Utopia Talk / Politics / Pelosi/Harris plotting to depose Biden

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi has thrown her support behind legislation that would establish a panel of experts and former executive branch officials to determine whether a president lacks the mental or physical capacity to carry out the job.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), would shore up a process established under the 25th Amendment by which the vice president can assume control of the presidency if the president becomes incapacitated or is unable to perform the duties of the office.

...

Although Democrats are resurfacing the bill this week just days after President Donald Trump was hospitalized for the coronavirus, Pelosi said the proposal is about establishing a process for the future to prevent a crisis.

“This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters. But he shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents,” Pelosi told reporters Friday, standing beside a massive chart stating the 25th Amendment. She added that the proposal isn’t about presidential “behavior” but about an actual diagnosis by medical professionals."

So this proposal isnt directed at Trump, but rather at "future presidents"...and as it just so happens, a potential "future president" is a frail septuagenarian who is already clearly suffering from acute senility...hmm.

Biden is being strung along so bad lol. If he wins, I hope he enjoys his first hundred days in office, because those will also be his last hundred days. Hello President Affirmative Action!

The 25th, for reference.

Seems very likley, she is setting a back up plan to remove Trump if he wins.

seems a reasonable idea to fix the hole in the 25th Amendment

as her visual aid notes, having some other potential body is already in the text:

"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide..."

& obviously just relying on the administration itself is a total failure as we see w/ completely obviously unfit Trump & all his loyal or scared spineless sheep who can't speak truthfully unless they leave the administration

he tweeted in text version too:

"Crazy Nancy Pelosi is looking at the 25th Amendment in order to replace Joe Biden with Kamala Harris. The Dems want that to happen fast because Sleepy Joe is out of it!!!"

so Senate should agree then? or maybe they prefer the senile, barely-knows-he's-alive Joe as prez over communist monster Harris?

Senate Rs would never pass this to screw over Trump, because they'd promptly get primaried by their Trump-loving constituents...

...on the other hand, Senate Ds would probably be on board with installing Harris at the right moment, because if they didnt they'd promptly get primaried by their progressive constituents.

The pieces are quickly falling into place.

The kicker in all this is "Whenever the Vice President and..."

Congress can maybe change who the "and" is but it is still an "and" meaning if the VP doesn't agree it doesn't happen.
Would take an amendment to the constitution to change that "and" to an "or" and I doubt either party will have enough majority for an amendment change.

Yeah, your right, probably to make President Harris and VP Pelosi.

--------

Section 4
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Cuckservatives still think their Biden senile narrative worked. It only shone a light on Trump’s mental deterioration.

you mean relying on the group of people selected by the guy whose only requirement is loyalty to him?

and this proposal wouldn't change that tumbleweed because the amendment makes it clear the VP is needed to make the decision.

tw, You would rather have members of Congress pick a hand full doctors? this is clearly gling yo lead to partisan abuse.

Why not let state governors or legislatures pick the panel?

regarding the OP
No shit. If Biden claimed he cured Covid and demanded everyone help clean "forest floors" or bleaching their lungs I'd like to think they would remove him from office.

and undermining faith in elections, media, DOJ, FBI, CIA, DNI, HHS, FDA, CDC, EPA, State Dept, courts, judges, etc

all for his own interests

and repeatedly accusing people of committing crimes without citing the crime or evidence of said crime & even urging his AG to indict those people (that's actually really really fucking odd & disturbing behavior from the head of the exec branch...)

i'll take any group who can look at Trump and say 'wow, he's so incredibly obviously unfit, you gotta remove him asap'
