Because he wouldn't scrub anything that was critical of Biden from his articles. Holy shit.

Glenn Greenwald resigns from The Intercept

Journalist Glenn Greenwald has resigned from The Intercept, seven years after co-founding the online publication, citing censorship by his own editors over an article concerning former Vice President Joe Biden.

The 53-year-old shared his resignation letter in a tweet to his more than 1.5 million followers on Thursday afternoon, in which he accused editors of refusing to publish an article he wrote unless he removed "all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression."

Greenwald, who came to prominence for helping break the news on classified documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, has built a reputation as one of the media's most combative and contrarian voices. He has frequently battled other journalists online who have criticized his appearances on Fox News and what they say is his dismissal of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

He has also emerged as a vocal critic of the mainstream media, accusing it of quashing alternative views when it comes to coverage of certain news stories. In his resignation letter, Greenwald accused Intercept editors in New York of becoming "increasingly authoritarian" and "repressive."

"The censored article, based on recently revealed emails and witness testimony, raised critical questions about Biden’s conduct. Not content to simply prevent publication of this article at the media outlet I co-founded, these Intercept editors also demanded that I refrain from exercising a separate contractual right to publish this article with any other publication," he wrote in his letter.

"All this time, as things worsened, I reasoned that as long as The Intercept remained a place where my own right of journalistic independence was not being infringed, I could live with all of its other flaws," Greenwald concluded. "But now, not even that minimal but foundational right is being honored for my own journalism, suppressed by an increasingly authoritarian, fear-driven, repressive editorial team in New York bent on imposing their own ideological and partisan preferences on all writers while ensuring that nothing is published at The Intercept that contradicts their own narrow, homogenous ideological and partisan views: exactly what The Intercept, more than any other goal, was created to prevent."

The New York-born former litigator wrote for Salon and The Guardian newspaper based in London.

The resignation comes one month after Greenwald told Megyn Kelly on her podcast that he was "formally banned" from MSNBC because of his criticism of the network's coverage of Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election. MSNBC has denied the ban.

The Hill has reached out to The Intercept for comment.

Journaliats are fuzzy retards, whose obvious bias and manipulation lead to the backlash that lead to trump.

After the second civil war, they will have to be sent to re-education camps along with activists and artists.

Thus, the preposterous charge that The Intercept’s editors and reporters, with the lone, noble exception of Glenn Greenwald, have betrayed our mission to engage in fearless investigative journalism because we have been seduced by the lure of a Joe Biden presidency.

” If your kicked out of an organization that you co-founded chances are your a self righteous douchbag.”

Yeah, everyone has some fault. Being a ”self righteous douchbag” might be what's faulty with Greenwald.

” It is Glenn who has strayed from his original journalistic roots, not The Intercept.”

I remember that I read a tweet by him a week or four ago, and that I was thinking that this doesn’t sound like good old Glenn. He was too aggressive and emotional. Spewing shit on the Democrats because of Russia-something (if I remember correct now). But maybe he is just frustrated with the Democrats for some reason. I have previously had the impression of him that he is professional. But a pro does not let his frustration be seen in his writings. A pro can write criticism that is lethal but yet friendly.

Anyhoo... I get it that people change. And maybe Glenn has changed a little bit after spending years on twitter compared to who he was like 5 years ago or something.

I have no idea who the fuck this greenwald guy is. I read the email exchange between him and the editors. Anyone with a fucking brain doesn’t see censorship, but more a discussion among colleagues. Greenwald then overreacts and calls it censorship. How can he be censored? He still published the story. And the emails don’t corroborate his victimization narrative either.

This guy is just a grifter appearing on Fox News and right-wing media to feed their dumbass media is corrupt narrative. Fuck him.

Lol Snowden leaked the files all at once to multiple outlets. You reactionaries are so fucking stupid. And I actually read the emails and they had nothing to do with censorship. They wanted to narrow the story down to what was provable and Greenwald decided to pearl-clutch.

None of you cuckservatives knew who he was until a few days ago and all the right-wing news spurces and facebook posts told you who he was.

Stupid reactionary cunts gonna be a stupid reactionary cunt,

"Lol Snowden leaked the files all at once to multiple outlets. You reactionaries are so fucking stupid."

Lol, the irony of these two statements posed back to back

"And I actually read the emails and they had nothing to do with censorship."

Journalists with experience dealing with editors disagree with you.

"None of you cuckservatives knew who he was until a few days ago"

This from the same brand of Dunning-Kruger idiots who claim, "No one else knew what a coyote was, either".

"Journalists with experience dealing with editors disagree with you."

Who? This is still Greenwald being a dick. THere was no new evidence found on Hunter Biden. He's amplifying the story beyond what it would have been had he just published it on the intercept.

By resigning, he made this story way bigger than it actually would have been so his whining is sad and pathetic.

Anyone with a brain can read the emails. They reveal nothing to support what Greenwald said. Stupid vengeful little cunt.

Matt Taibbi:

'The first hint of trouble came when Reed suggested that yes, it might be a story, if proven correct, but “even if it did represent something untoward about Biden,” that would “represent a tiny fraction of the sleaze and lies Trump and his cronies are oozing in every day.”

When Greenwald retorted that deciding not to report on one politician’s scandals because those of another politician are deemed worse is a “corrupt calculus” for reporters, Reed expressed concern. Based on this, on his comments on Twitter, and other factors, she worried that “we are headed for a conflict over the editing of this piece.”

Greenwald insisted he wasn’t planning an overwhelming amount of coverage but wanted to do a single article, reviewing the available facts and perhaps asking the Biden campaign to comment on the veracity of the Post story. Reed agreed that he should write a draft, then they could “see where we are.”

An aside: when reporters and editors interact, they speak between the lines. If an editor only ever suggests or assigns stories from a certain angle, you’re being told they don’t particularly want the other angle. If your editor has lots of hypothetical concerns at the start, he or she probably won’t be upset if you choose a different topic. Finally, when an editor lays out “suggestions” about things that might “help” a piece “be even stronger,” it’s a signal both parties understand about what elements have to be put in before the editor will send the thing through.

Reed explained that any piece Greenwald wrote on the Biden/Burisma subject would have to go through “the editorial process and fact-checking that we do with any story with this kind of high profile.” Peter Maass would edit, but Reed also noted that there was a lot of “in-house knowledge” they could all “tap into.”

By “in-house knowledge,” she meant the work of Robert Mackey and Jim Risen, two Intercept reporters with whom Greenwald clashed in the past. Risen had already loudly denounced the Post story not only as conspiracy theory, but foreign disinformation. Essentially, Reed was telling Greenwald his piece would be quasi-edited by people with whom he’d had major public disagreements about Russia-related issues going back years.

To this, Greenwald responded that this was a double-standard: when Risen wrote an article credulously quoting intelligence officials like James Clapper, John Brennan, and Michael Hayden (more on the extreme irony of this later) describing the Post story as having “the classic earmarks of Russian misinformation,” he could do so willy-nilly. But when Greenwald wanted to write an op-ed piece questioning the “prevailing wisdom on Biden and Burisma,” a team of people would would be summoned.

“The only reason people are getting interested in and ready to scrutinize what I write is because everyone is afraid of being accused of having published something harmful to Biden,” Greenwald told them. “That’s the reality.”'

Her points are still true.

https://newrepublic.com/article/160012/glenn-greenwald-throws-fit

Some more stuff on it.

Anyways, this is just more stupid shit.

1) Hunter Biden doesn't matter at all on how you should vote. Even Tucker Carlson had to waste time losing the damning documents, which he then found, and then said it wasn't worth revealing whats in them because Hunter Biden doesn't have anything to do with this campaign.

2) The whole story is just some idiot Trump supporter making shit up. Hunter Biden somehow travelled 3k miles to drop off a laptop at a shop that wiped the security footage of the dropoff but the legally blind Trump supporting shop owner identified Biden while Sean Hannity's producer broke the story sourced by Rudy Giuliani and the New York Post writer didn't want his name on the story after Fox News refused to break it because none of it is verified? And even Greenwald himself said none of it was verified but because the Biden Campaign and FBI didn't outright deny the existence of a laptop, it is somehow worthy of merit?

3) Greenwald himself doesn't make much hay about Hunter Biden. His main points are that the mainstream media is attempting to protect Biden and calls them biased. To do this, he goes on FOX NEWS yet again, to feed right-wing qanon wackos what they want to hear about mainstream media bias ... over a story that not even Fox News would report on because it wasn't verifiable in any shape or form.

Really this is all just gaslighting and some vague narrative that cuckservatives always love: "Mainstream Media is Liberal"

Greenwald is an egoist moron.

The horeshoe theory is real.

And Nimatzo is a sexist, ignorant piece of shit who rapes his wife.

Let's compare that to the corruption of Trump's kids which is demonstrably true with actual evidence and not bullshit:

Donald Trump's kid knowingly went to a fucking meeting for foreign intelligence on Clinton in exchange for political support, one of them used his leverage with the President to help his Saudi friend smooth relations after Kasshogi was murdered. Trump's kids are actual grifters who haven't achieved anything without daddy dearest.

As back to Greenwald's article, it's shit and anybody that's not a deluded cuckservative knows it. He posted the article he wanted to print.

It's literally as stupid as it sounds. He spends a few paragraphs on the Hunter Biden stuff and the Burisma stuff where he struggles to make the former sound coherent and the latter sound plausible. Then he spends the vast majority of the rest of the article complaining that no one is taking it seriously.

Yeah, nobody takes it seriously because it's the same shit as Hillary's emails or Obama's gay sex scandal with Larry Sinclaire.

Only a stupid shit cuckservative would believe it.

That's a lot of ranting about the content of the article.

You don't have to like the article.

The editor was already whining about it before he even wrote it.
