Righteous tone, straight to camera delivery like you're saying something of utmost importance but it's just filler. Later, to fill time, he had retired Rep Charlie Dent on a panel. Charlie Dent is like "you know, I always took my constituents to see this plaque about the PA soldiers from Civil War right by the East Wing, it's a desecration to see the Confederate flag flown in the halls of the Capitol, Trump should resign but he won't, we have to do something, we are the party of Lincoln...", and Lemon stops him mid-sentence with "hold up, one thing, and I'm going to stop you: 'were'." Dent looks confused. Lemon: "were. You said are, but you were the party of Lincoln." Hosting etiquette is basically "what if instead of having a conversation, we were two people tweeting at each other." Feel like he also did this with Abby Philips where he stopped her mid-sentence so he could deliver some kind of this-would-be-devestating-on-twitter comment.
