When I was a security guard I worked with police and former police they are mostly good and professional people. I'm not racist or so simple minded to judge a whole group of people by the worst example. IMHO Capitol Hill still is one of the premier law enforcement organization on the planet. They don't deserve to be beaten with fire extinguishers and put in this impossible position.
