Utopia Talk / Politics / There's no point in getting the vaccine

The White House announces that social distancing and mask requirements will remain in place even after people get the vaccine:

(at 45:30)

So in other words, whether you get the vaccine or not doesn't matter; Covod restrictions will stay in place regardless.

Democrats want the lockdowns to be permanent.

Maybe 70 million (or how many was it that voted for Trump?) Americans will not take the vaccine because they believe that covid-19 is fake, so maybe that is why social distancing and masks are going to be required. They do this to protect conservative lives.

Or maybe 81 million Americans (minus the 21 million fabricated votes that the Democrats drummed up at 4 AM on November 4) will not take the vaccine because Kamala Harris decided to go anti-vaxxer when the orange man was overseeing the process and repeatedly told the public that the vaccine was not to be trusted.

Doubt ill take the vaccine. It came out too fast which tells me it wasnt tested as thoroughly as it should have been. Plus im in the 99.9 percentile of being fine if i catch it.

Old people and obese fucks should get the vaccine, thats about it.

Goddamit.

Look, because we didn't lockdown enough and allowed a huge reservoir of viral infection, we have now lots of variants.

At the moment, that's selecting for higher infection rates.

Let's take the UK: we have the Kent variant.

There's some evidence that the South African strain, which appears to be present, isn't getting a foothold here because the Kent variant is getting to people first, and the immune response to Kent is also suppressing the South African strain.

However, the vaccines appear to be less good at preventing the mild or moderate version of the South African strain.

So if you vaccinate everyone, you prevent the Kent strain spreading, but the South African strain takes over. The symptoms are moderate, but transmission high.

So you will retain a big pool of the virus, allowing further mutations.

The reason the lockdowns are going on in and on is because you fucking idiots, Rugian, are intent on turning yourselves into factories for the virus.

Not content with having got us to the state where we are battling multiple strains, you now want to try and engineer a situation where we select for vaccine resistant strains. It's like you actually want this to go on forever.

At this point I'm becoming more sympathetic to the Chinese and wondering if we should just brick you up inside your houses if your break mark mandates or quarantine. Too stupid and too much of a menace to the rest of us.

"Democrats want the lockdowns to be permanent."

Your logical conclusion is astounding.

"Look, because we didn't lockdown enough"

When this was all starting, sebs politicians were calling lockdowns and travel bans racist.

The Trump administration’s decision to ban most foreign nationals who had been to China in the last two weeks from traveling to the United States amid an accelerating outbreak of a novel coronavirus there was preceded by calls for similar policies from conservative lawmakers and far-right supporters of the president. Public health experts, however, warn that the move could do more harm than good.

The Trump administration’s quarantine and travel ban in response to the Wuhan coronavirus could undercut international efforts to fight the outbreak by antagonizing Chinese leaders, as well as stigmatizing people of Asian descent, according to a growing chorus of public health experts and lawmakers.

The World Health Organization’s top official on Tuesday repeated concern that moves that interfere with transportation and trade could harm efforts to address the crisis

Don't know why you are attributing a few random us senators to me.

However, perhaps if you hadn't spent the previous few years trying to Ban Muslims in a very clearly racially motivated policy, you'd have actually got a travel ban through quickly and with support.

Another example of the failure of Samism

"Don't know why you are attributing a few random us senators to me. "

Because 99 times out of 100 you swallow up any left-wing talking point without thought.
