Witnesses are saying they saw multiple people down and hospitals are saying they only received one person from the scene and that was the guy led away in handcuffs. So either really bad with anybody shot being dead or really good and all the people on the ground were just seeking cover.

Gotta get those updoots. If you see an opportunity to start your independent journalism channel, you take it ;)

..
[Y2A]: "A)"

That's such a tired and ignorant narrative. People need to realize that the reason that peaceful apprehension is possible is that people can change the severity of a scenario with their own actions. Even Anders Breivik was apprehended peacefully after his actions because he wanted to be taken alive and thus surrendered without resistance. And, naturally, they list Breonna Taylor as "sleeping", when in fact she was standing in a hallway next to her boyfriend who had just fired a shot at police. And they neglect to mention that Tamir Rice's "toy gun" was a realistic 9mm replica which he was holding towards police (not that those police didn't screw up too).

It's an argument of false causality. If they keep people from understanding that their actions create specific effects and instead make them think that nothing they do matters, then, in ignorance, these people produce the very sensational headlines that they've been warned about by creating conflict in dangerous situations. People who understand those situations know better how they may survive them. But corruption in media knows the narrative, and by telling people that it's purely race, then they can continue the media's racialist strategy — getting minorities killed to feed them power.

Might not be Hayner, it might be the case that Hayner just called in saying he was the shooter because they had a separate incident where someone called in claiming they were involved and the SWAT team came out to check it out.

[hood]: "Yes, imagine needing to survive interactions with the police, like it shouldn't simply be the expected outcome."

lulz. I love jokes about people with low awareness. It has a shade of that "police shouldn't kill guilty people either" meme to it.

Of course, in any practical, non-meme reality, people survive everyday interactions without issue. People in casinos know to keep their hands visible because casinos worry about theft and cheating, so in good faith, good patrons will avoid suspicious behavior such as leaving hands in their pockets or hiding their identities with hoodies. People in expensive retail stores will conduct themselves similarly, not carrying large, open bags that could be used to scoop merchandise off the shelves; not standing too close shelves; and staying visible — making it easy for retail workers to focus on helping rather than on loss prevention. Good patrons of a shooting range will keep their weapons secured and unloaded while moving around others; at the line, they will keep weapons pointed down range — making it easy for range operators and other patrons to focus on themselves. In traffic, people will survive commutes by behaving predictably, being courteous, driving defensively, signaling intent, and following the rules of the road. People do these things because certain scripts make social interactions easier and less volatile.

In the case of police in the United States, police deal with people who will pull out lethal weapons and try to kill them with no warning or no clear reason at a moment's notice, so good citizens will be aware of the difficulty that officers face and try to make the work of officers less confrontational. Good citizens will keep their hands visible, not reach for things without warning, move slowly, and act predictably — all which should sound familiar from dozens of other public interactions. That is why, in fact, "the expected outcome" is survival; police interactions consistently have been statistically mundane. Most people know how to behave, so officers do not even have to think about reaching for a weapon.

Some have no clue how to behave. They'll fail to observe every social script that would let them avoid scrutiny; and instead, they'll create problems for themselves. They'll get in car accidents, they'll have workers follow them in retail stores, they'll have staff ask them to change their behavior. These flawed characters do not encapsulate *every* police interaction, but we can find this level of ignorance in the lowest of low discourse on Twitter and Imgur. They'll even encourage it among themselves, saying that they should not *have* to behave well with police — that they should be able to push every button and see no difference in treatment — like a bad retail customer who thinks that the worker is a sin-eater for their vitriol. People unaware of the effects of their behavior find themselves surprised by consequences.

This is an example of gross violation of human rights in the USA. People are not safe in the US. The most basic human right – the right to life, is being violated in the US and the US government does nothing. If people were being gunned down and massacred every week in any other country then EU and the US would put sanctions on them for human rights violations.

ARVADA, Colorado—Authorities on Tuesday identified the suspect in the shooting deaths of 10 people at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, whose brother said he was deeply disturbed.

Alissa described his brother as “very anti-social” and paranoid, adding that, in high school, he would describe “being chased, someone is behind him, someone is looking for him.”

“When he was having lunch with my sister in a restaurant, he said, ‘People are in the parking lot, they are looking for me.’ She went out, and there was no one. We didn’t know what was going on in his head,” Alissa said, admitting that he believes his brother is mentally ill.

[...]

She said she was shocked, and the family never suspected their brother capable of committing this act of violence. “We’re shocked. He is nice, a quiet brother,” the 30-year-old told The Daily Beast, declining to give her name.

According to the suspect’s brother, the motivation may not have been a political one.

“[It was] not at all a political statement, it’s mental illness,” Ali Aliwi Alissa told The Daily Beast. “The guy used to get bullied a lot in high school, he was like an outgoing kid but after he went to high school and got bullied a lot, he started becoming anti-social.”

It has been your normal for decades. Your government does nothing. They are actually helping these killers to carry out these killings by not removing the guns from the stores and the streets. And thus, the US govt is violating your fundamental human right – your right to life. The world needs to put sanctions on selected individuals/officials in the US (the pro-gun/killing people) until they change and respect human rights.

Yeah because taking away guns will cure all the mental illness that people are suffering.

I don't think it would have mattered in this case but in 2019 Colorado passed a law that greatly hinders how police and others can help with people that are suffering from a mental illness.

Pretty hilarious "i no guns good" moments from this CNN article:
"Here's what we know about the Boulder, Colorado, mass shooting suspect"
[CNN; By Ray Sanchez; March 23rd, 2021]
http://www...do-shooting-suspect/index.html
• "The weapon used in the attack was an AR-15-style pistol modified with an arm brace, according to the source."

A "pistol" that is AR-15-style? Fascinating.

• The warrant described Alissa as being armed with either an assault rifle or "black AR-15"

Either/or?

• "Using law enforcement databases, the affidavit said, investigators determined Alissa had purchased a Ruger AR556 pistol on March 16."

Okay.. so it's a "pistol"... but it's also a Ruger AR556.. which is a rifle. Gotcha :|

The Ray Sanchez who wrote this article is considered one of CNN's firearm go-to writers, having written dozens of articles on firearms debates and anti-firearms protests over the years ( http://muckrack.com/ray-sanchez/articles ). Good thing that no one reads CNN.

Well not exactly propane tanks, but...

"The Bath School disaster, also known as the Bath School massacre, was a series of violent attacks perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927, in Bath Township, Michigan, United States. The attacks killed 38 elementary schoolchildren and 6 adults, and injured at least 58 other people. Prior to his timed explosives going off at the Bath Consolidated School building, Kehoe had murdered his wife, Nellie Price Kehoe, and firebombed his farm. Arriving at the site of the school explosion, Kehoe died when he detonated explosives concealed in his truck."

The point is that American currently suffers from the occasional mass shooting by some bloke with an AR-15 (aka the most popular rifle in the United States in general, hence why it tends to be used in these incidents - because why go with something less popular?).

If you ban semi-autos (which is fucking retarded for a whole multitude of reasons), then people who want to commit mass murder will just turn to other instruments. Instruments like, say, bombs, which are far more deadly than guns.

Your choice bro.

(also, if you try to take AR-15s away from the American public, you will have scores of dead politicians. That's a fucking fact, you freedom-hating idiot tw)

& we've already seen it, one of these people was denied an AR-15 purchase so went w/ a shotgun & handgun or something

Who the fuck said anything about preferable. I clearly stated if they couldn't get a gun and they wanted to cause harm they would find a way to do so. The increase in mass death by arson after the Port Arthur massacre in Australia tells you this.

"yes, must clearly be equally as desirable as shooting people"
You are conflating desirable with convenient. Guns are preferred because for many they are the best tool available. If the guns were not available they would find another way.

"& we've already seen it, one of these people was denied an AR-15 purchase so went w/ a shotgun & handgun or something"

You see that "or something"? Yeah you are saying the same thing I am saying. You are trying to hide behind well they will just get another gun and ignoring what might happen if they can't get a gun at all.

You keep saying preferable as if that means something in this discussion. If your really hungry and go into a sub shop to get a sandwich do you leave because they don't have your favorite bread or do you get some different bread. And no the question doesn't allow for just going somewhere that does have your favorite bread. Your favorite bread isn't available. So you gonna starve?

the "or something" was because i don't recall what guns he used, but it was definitely guns & there will ALWAYS be guns available, so they will always move to other guns... not propane tanks...

are you really this daft? I am telling you getting rid of guns isn't the answer because if they can't get guns they will use something else and your counter is that they will use guns.

Might be a knife, brick, baseball bat, pipe bomb, rental van, whatever.

except there is ZERO chance of getting rid of all guns, and that's NOT the democrat position no matter how many times NRA says so (or the black guy on Hannity tonight...)

& i'm not advocating 'assault rifle' bans over this issue, but if you DID ban them, people WOULD just move to other guns & probably NOT rack up as many kills (& probably get some injured instead, unlike this guy)

there is no reason to think if they can't buy an 'assault rifle' they'd jump to bombs or vans or whatever else instead of just a different gun they can get, and we already have an example of someone doing it (yet common sense also) & there already ARE banned guns, & people don't switch to bombs just because they can't get them

"Ya wanna solve the problem of mass murder then look towards better health care"

yeah, Dems never are pushing for health care, right? if only Trump had revealed his better cheaper plan...

[CC]: ""A "pistol" that is AR-15-style? Fascinating."
[tw]: "not to be contradictory but Ruger -does- have a "AR556 Pistol" page"
[Forwyn]: It's an arbitrary distinction created by the faggots in the ATF. Carbines below a certain length, especially if they have "pistol braces" (stocks) or forearm braces, are considered to legally be pistols."

Lulz. Interesting. Ruger has had the AR-556 rifle since 2009, but in 2019 they made a slightly shorter version which can be classed a "pistol". It's fun how companies will make weapons which comply with poorly designed firearms laws, and the compliant weapons will actually be better for close quarters than the rifle version. The U.S. military largely moved from the M16 to the M4, and the civilian sector is getting its own shorter variants ;)

Hopefully this shooting will result in better weapons laws. Like, laws against restricting gun ownership — doubling down on the Second Amendment and opening laws back up to allow citizens their right to carry at *least* squad-level equipment. If the Starbucks barista at the entrance had been carrying an M870 shotgun, then this shooter may have decided to stay home with peanut butter in his hair and bananas duct taped to his feet like a normal crazy person.

"yeah, Dems never are pushing for health care, right? "

Should have been better mental health care and no the Democrats have not been pushing for better mental health care. In Colorado and other states they have done the opposite.

Top 10 manufacturers of the AR-15 pistol in different calibers and grain in link. Also you can make one yourself with a small about of knowledge and effort. In normal times the individual parts are readily available from suppliers.

Owning guns won't matter at all before to awful long. People that are not already stocked up on ammo aren't going to be able to get ammo.

Yeah, you can have your guns, but the 2nd amendment says nothing about your right to ammo.

Also a shortage of primers so people that load their own ammo are being impacted.

3-D printers will help with ghost guns, so maybe people will return to flintlock muskets using black powder to make up for the ammo issues ;)

Guns to someone who wants to do this sort of crime are preferable.

They are much easier to use, more mobile and allows for change of direction/improvisation.

That's just common sense.

It's a perfect tool for person to person combat, the gun doesnt care whether its legitimate combat or terrorism as its just a tool.

gun deaths in the US are down from the past 60s 70s, and there was way fewer guns.

I admit that access to weapons will play a role in crimes that occur this way.

Some people will find other outlets which to cause harm.

Some may find it too difficult for a number of reasons.

But at this point, the guns are out there. Banning them now will still make it almost as easy to get illegally.

But it most assuredly will make it more difficult for legitimate operators which are the vast majority.

It will likely not end with an AR ban and would tryntonseep into further gun control, perhaps large caliber pistols, shotguns, who knows.

Paramount, That's a dispute that I would be cool with the SC ruling on.Especially this SC.

The internet has probably been affiliated with more destruction than private gun ownership in recent times.
