they don't believe in democracy or elections. they don't want to have to broaden their appeal beyond the faction of angry resentful white americans that supports them. the electoral system which provides for electoral affirmative action in presidential, senate and house elections dissuades them from having to appeal beyond this core. The GOP in the 2020s is the equivalent of the Afrikaner National Party in the 1980s.

Y2A, you think that "broadening appeal" with minorities consists of blatantly pandering to them. The GOP isn't offering affirmative action and handouts to African Americans or open borders to Hispanics, so they're not trying to "broaden their appeal."

The reality is that conservative ideas on their own are attractive enough to entice people of all races. A middle-class black or brown person is probably going to care more about having a lower tax bill than whether or not the US hands citizenship to Guatemalans.

Democrats know this, which is why they have to continually lean on the race card in order to keep black and brown people voting the "right" way. It's why they so blatantly lied over the Georgia law, why they insist on making every political issue about race, why they insist of characterizing America as being structurally racist, etc.

Democrats are the greatest enemy of racial harmony in this country.
