If poor whites dont get vaccinated, they are threatening the safety of this country.

If blacks wont vax , its racism.

There is a history that explains why blacks don't trust the government or the medical community.

That being said, all the stupid people need to die.

There is a history of why rural whites dont trust the government.

Yes, the government kept trying to shut down their stills.

Well, 100 years ago a handfull of black people were given syphilis, so now blacks who know nothing about it mostly have a "good" reason to fear bill gates putting microchips in their vaccines.

I thought because of COVID there was a shortage of microchips?

I hadn't made that connection, but it makes perfect sense. :o)

Maybe the vaccination centres are distributed the same way polling stations are.

Question, have you done anything like make sure that employers can't penalise someone for taking time off to get the Jab?

Otherwise you are going to skew heavily against certain types of worker.

"Question, have you done anything like make sure that employers can't penalise someone for taking time off to get the Jab?

This might be the worst excuse yet. Shots were given at all hours, poor people tend to be shift workers that have plenty of standard hours open, AND black people work less, so its even less of an issue for them. Fail x3 seb.

And the "lack of convenient locations" argument is totally bull as well. If you can't make the four-block trip to your nearest convenience store (NOT "vaccination center," why the hell would you need to go to one of those at this point?), then you're just a lazy asshole.

A friend is saying he doesn't trust the vaccine because of how hard they are trying to sell us on it. Kind of like late night infomercials. You can get this salad shooter for $19.99 but wait there is more. Buy now and we will throw in this turnip twaddler at no extra charge. We all know that salad shooter is garbage.
Same thing with the shot. I'm thinking my friend just doesn't want the shot and is making excuses but there are people out there that don't trust how hard this is being pushed. If it were so good why offer a coupon for medium fries if we get it.

McDonald's is offering free fries for vaccinations for the same reason they literally give coupons away in the mail: so people go to their restaurants. Krispy Kreme, same thing. Your "friend" sounds like a moron.

Yep, smart business move. Give away a few pennies worth of potatoes and virtue signal the vaccine. Win/win for everyone.

you both missed the point.

No, I agree that the over-the-top pushing of the vaccine is going to alienate a subset of the populace.

Your point is correct.

I'm here for the economic implications. :)

People who think its more difficult to access services in the inner city, have not lived in large American cities.

It's WAY more difficult in the sticks.

Sure it makes sense that a business would take advantage. Bring in your vaccination card buy two tacos and get a third free. Why not?

Government saying hey everybody that gets the shot also gets a shot at a million dollars in a raffle...that breeds suspicion.

In the sense regarding exploiting vaccines to give out free shit, that's totally not a liberal bias issue, that makes sense, it makes people feel like they part of somethibg bigger, people love that and will vaguely remember it for years

"remember back when Biden was in office and we got free fries for the vaccine, we should go get fries"

It will be like a y2k memory now.

I find it weird that people haven't mentioned that blacks actually don't have a lower vaccination rate, and in fact have a higher vaccination rate than whites at this point.

This article, cherry picks data from a few cities. I think their data may be a few months old. It is true that blacks delayed a bit in vaccinating for whatever reason, but have largely vaccinated now.

The overwhelming anti-vax are Trump loyalists.

My bad, I misread this. Anyway, offering treats to get people to do things that are good for them is pretty normal behavior. This social engineering is inherent in the tax system, and has been used since the dawn of time to great effect.

It works especially well with children, and those with childlike minds.

People say shit to rationalize their irrational behavior. I'm sure your friend was fine getting a discount on the last car he bought or his smartphone or whatever the fuck.

This is something that irritates me about coverage of the "vaccine hesitant". Invariably the report includes whatever stupid excuse came out of the face of people that simply refuse to get vaccinated because 18 months ago they took the position that covid-19 was fake, or a little flu, or that only really old or really sick people were dying, or that people that were dying of other shit were being classified as covid deaths so hospitals could earn more money, or that some vitamin regime is all you need to fend off covid, or whatever the fuck.

People will keep doubling down on stupid rather than admit that they were wrong or were conned.

I'm generally against forced vaccinations, but it's gotten to the point where the government should quit asking pretty please and just put the shit in the water supply.

We put fluoride in the water to keep people's teeth from rotting, and we flush out the water supply with chlorine to protect people from bacteria, viruses, and parasites.

If people were only harming themselves then whatever. But they aren't just harming themselves.

If the vaccine works then yeah they are only hurting themselves.
