Utopia Talk / Politics / Could Larry Elder win Cali?

How hilarious would that be?

He apparently has 29% of the vote, which considering there are 46 people running, is the lead.

He has also stated he would opt to replace Feinstein with a Republican.

D Day

Polling suggests Newsom will win, but the sheer amount of money, effort, and hysterics (black Republicans are white supremacists! Rofl) that the Dems threw out to protect this guy is immensely lulzly.

"Pro-Freedom" Republicans bunch of pearl-clutching social issues to hide tax cuts for the rich. You're even more a slave to the ultra-rich than you realize but you're too stupid to realize it.

"but the sheer amount of money, effort, and hysterics"

Republicans are the ones that piled money into this race and wasted everyone's time by starting a recall in the first place but selective memory is nothing new for a cuckseravative.

A anti-recall coalition has raised 72 million. The closest to that is Larry Elder with just under 14 million.

"Why does every argument Dukhat has end in "But, but they are worse""

because on the short bus they don't every ask if Timmy jumped off a bridge would you.

Murder, My thought process on that would be that having such a polarizing figure in the Democratic Mecca would be used to motivate democratic voters.

Even nationwide it would be a recurring news reel.

Could be wrong though, just a theory.

If Texas reverting women back to second class status doesn't motivate Democrats, nothing will.

Murder, I highly suspect it will.Come midterm commercial time rolls around it will be feont and center.

But, to have a Larry Elder as governor of CA would be like Maddow as governor of TX.

"Republicans are the ones that piled money into this race"

This is a blatant lie. Newsom raised more than $70 million to fight the recall, which is *overwhelmingly* more than what any other candidate has managed.

Why are you so bad at facts, Dukhat?

Mail in ballots are what rigged the election and rig every election. So easy to vote fraudulently. Same day voting is the best way to insure legal democratic elections.

64% in CA seems normal. They don't like Newsom, but they fear a "Trump clone", which elder is not but still hispolitics don't really mesh with modern CA.

Newsom is pretty popular. Republicans tried to recall based on anger over lockdowns a few months ago as people wanted to reopen again but Delta and lots of people dying to it and kids being exposed changed that. Turns out people don’t want Trumpism. This is not just based off cities. Even Orange County and other Republican strongholds out of rural areas bolted.

The failure of the CA recall is a reminder to Republicans still in the state: the decline is now inexorable. Get out while the getting is good, and move to a purple or red state. Your life will radically improve.

Y2A's got a point. Anyone in the right who is conservative or who at least doesn't actively hate America should seriously think of joining Calexit at this point. Unless you have a network of at least eight figures, there are so many better places to live than that shithole.

Or you can continue to live in a state where homes are unaffordable, taxes are sky high, human feces and used needles are everywhere, schools are leftist indoctrination centers, and white people are actively discriminated against.

A recall is as simple as getting a bunch of neckbeards in every county to sign a petition. Republicans are a loud and obnoxious minority in every part of the country out of brainwashed rural areas.

"Anyone in the right who is conservative or who at least doesn't actively hate America should seriously think of joining Calexit at this point."

A problem is the "Dark Knight Rises" metaphor... if Bruce Wayne cuts ties with Gotham, the city absolutely dies. If he stays, it will cost him everything, but the city survives. People have to ask themselves how they would respond to that scenario, and it's not an easy ask. Elder not being elected does not mean that Wayne failed; Wayne was not a politician, and Harvey Dent did not get to serve his term.

A more realistic issue: California has become the Capitol City from Hunger Games. It drinks the labors of its red districts and even literally drinks the rivers and reservoirs of neighboring states. If good people abandon it completely, then the mob will indeed remain... and vote themselves more riches at the expense of everyone else, and not just those in the state but the region and the country. Their declining morality but high population will mean loyal DNC cultists.

If, on the other hand, people remain to fight back, then, long term, perhaps California will be broken into a state-wide Electoral College, where its urban sprawl wastelands can no longer seize labor and capital via its popular vote tyranny. I.e., do the same thing for California that the colonies did at the founding: create districts that have a vote that is weighted against the groupthink population centers. This will empower morality, empower districts to have and manage their own resources, and increase representation. None of this is possible if California continues to suffer a brain drain, and that brain drain hurts the rest of the country that must accept those California residents who fled the state but not the state's morality.

Your conspiracy is your entire post. The vast majority of California's GDP is due to its cities. LA is the largest industrial area in the US. The Bay Area is a huge tech and industrial and trade hub.

California farms are pretty good and productive but they are a drop in the water.

And then your laughable lie about how California takes all the water. How the fuck does a state downstream of other red states steal water from them. The red states have all the power to take as much as they want and they do. The Colorado river is basically a stream by the time it gets to the Pacific.

Just laughably idiotic assertion after assertion.
