Alana McLaughlin, the second openly transgender woman to compete in MMA in the United States, won her debut Friday night via submission at the Combate Global prelims in Miami, Fla.

The 38-year-old used a rear-naked choke against Celine Provost to end the match 3 minutes, 32 seconds into the second round.

Apparently both are feather weight, thought these things can look a bit deceiving.

I think that the transgenders should fight other transgenders.

It should be like this:

Men vs men
Women vs women
Transgender vs transgender

There is a reason se have different sports. As for MMA, I think outside of curiosity fights where the female actually has a chance this shouldnt happen.

Its not even comftorable to watch, you feel like yoir just watching an asshole beat a woman.

It seems odd that transgender, who are like .25% of the population if that represent so many athletes.

Somewhere a person suggested a third league but suggested it be a league for anyone that uses steroids no matter gender. The transgenders could fight there.

Kargen idea actually sounds cool.Honestly I wouldn't watch a tranny league.But Ive always liked the idea of special leagues where enhancement drugs are kosher.

The tranny must have hollow bones ... or she gained back 20 lbs after cutting weight. Either way, someone with the build of a man should not be allowed to fight women. It's unfair enough when they race. Combat sports should be out of the question.

What if it is an actual woman born as a woman who is built like a man? They exist. Not that I am saying we should only have mixed classes, but what do you do? Once you open this pandora's box, you can start questioning everything along these lines, because the fact is there are inherent qualities individually (male vs male) that give an edge. In combat sports this is more evident because there are things in the male anatomy that evolved for this purpose and the aim of the game is to hurt people.

But in defense of this fight, it was completely transparent and the female opponent willingly took the fight. So in that regard this is perfectly OK.
