The data set comes from the National UFO Reporting Center, based in Davenport, Washington. Gee, I wonder why the map seems to bias English-speaking countries and especially the US. Here is a list of the reports.

Sleep paralysis sucks, it is scary as fuck. I had two different types associated with different dreams. One was the feeling of being unable to move but floating off the bed. Not above the bed but kind of sliding towards the edge of the bed with the feeling if you get to the edge something really nasty is going to happen.
The other usually I dream I am in a car wreck and wake up while still dreaming. I can't move because your brain kind of disables your body when you dream so you don't hurt yourself while dreaming. So I lay there in bed thinking oh fuck it wasn't a dream and I am paralyzed. I have to make a noise to fully wake myself up and just making a noise is hard. Like I said that shit is scary.
I've had dreams where I fell from a high bridge and was impaled by a fire hydrant when I hit the ground and that was nothing compared to sleep paralysis episodes.
The west tends to do aliens for some reason. I haven't done that one but I have felt there was a demon in the room a couple of times when I was in high school.

I've experienced sleep paralysis once about 20 years ago and it was scary as fuck. Still remember it vividly. Only years later I learnt about sleep paralysis and was very relieved to have a rational explanation for my hallucinations that morning.
