Albany pols, NYPD order cops to do nothing as drug addicts shoot up

By Kerry J. Byrne and Dean Balsamini
October 16, 2021 9:37am Updated

New York City’s war on drugs is over. The junkies won.

The New York Police Department waved the white flag last week — upon orders to surrender from Albany — directing officers to let drug addicts freely shoot up on city streets, and even let them share needles.

"Effective immediately, members of the service should not take any enforcement action against any individual who possesses a hypodermic needle, even when it contains residue of a controlled substance,” states a directive to NYPD commanders issued last Friday and obtained by The Post.

Senate Bill 2523, cited in the order to street cops, decriminalizes the possession or sale of hypodermic needles and syringes, commonly used by addicts to inject drugs such as heroin.

This is what happens when the far-left gains power.

I take it you don't have to deal with junkie fucks shooting up in your neighborhood.

Homeless drug addicts are a blight on society and should be removed from the streets to preserve quality of life.

When I lived in Philly I did, they started shoot up houses, BYOD they supply everything else, even a nurse to shoot them up.

CA actually had some success converting needle shooters to drug enema users. It doesn't sound great, especially from not wanting to see it on the street! But its far safer from a public health aspect.

People want to destroy their lives with drugs, thats their business.

They do so by taking over public streets, turning once clean neighborhoods into feces- and needle-ridden streets with high crime and tent cities, that shit isn't acceptable.

Only social conservatives give a shit about drug use.

You're libertarian when it suits you for masks but not for recreational drug use?

That's why nobody takes cuckservatives seriously. You can't even pick a consistent lane of attack.

Recreational drug use I could give a shit about. Homeless drug use is the scourge of the American city.

I wouldn't expect a billionaire playboy like you to understand what us ordinary people have to deal with though.

"Only social conservatives give a shit about drug use."

You're right, you'd have to be a member of the Moral Majority to be disgusted with places like this.

"Homeless drug addicts are a blight on society and should be removed from the streets to preserve quality of life."

So not pro-liberty?

Their body, their choice?

Taking over public streets isn't "their body, their choice."

Next thing you know, murder will be saying that you're not pro-liberty if you're against drunk driving.

Ideally for me narcotic use would go through specialized doctors to help mitigate negatives.

No, that would be the anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-social distancing, anti pandemic restrictions crowd.

The leaps of logic you have to go through to think that "being anti-vax or anti-mask is against liberty" are astounding.

Do you work for the ACLU murder? You'd be right at home with those idiots.

Should you also be able to go naked on a city street?

Should you be allowed to pee and poo on a city street? Masturbate on it, have sex on it?

By pitching a tent on a sidewalk, are you not effectively denying the use of that space to everyone else in the community?

Have you ever held a genuine political opinion, or do you just say whatever you think will generate the biggest reaction?

I was only kidding.

No one wants to see junkies shooting up on the street.

” “The new law is preposterous,” she said. “Mentally and emotionally ill individuals should be removed from the streets, involuntarily if necessary. They should be placed in high-quality settings, institutional settings if necessary,””

If the far-right would run the city, people will be locked up in institutions against their will. Maybe indefinitive.

Shooting up should be legal. If you want to fuck yourself up... without harming your society, go ahead, kill yourself, i dont care.

The real crimes associated with junkies and homeless should be punished, quite harshly.

Shoot up? fine. Leave the needle where a kid can step on it? 5 years in jail. Do it again? Gallows.

That liberals want most crimes to go unpunished really fucks with their attempts to be compassionate. Now everyone simply views all homeless and junkies as utter scum, since the leftists wont let us remove the bad ones.

"Their body, their choice?"

Sure so long as their choice doesn't interfere with others rights to their choice. Shoot up in a park, tweak under a tree then take your needle and go shit somewhere else when you wake up.

Even Berkeley of all places is quite militant with homeless people that violate the law.

It seems like Republican Mayoral candidate and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa could bring about good change for NYC/Gotham. He spoke out against this particular measure ( https://nypost.com/2021/10/17/curtis-sliwa-vows-war-on-hochuls-open-drug-use-legalization/ ), and back in August he had a good press conference where he addressed just these sorts of issues:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Tz_8MIj0pA
(long video, but at 2x speed it's 15 minutes and covers a lot of ground; I'll partly summarize below, though)

Upward-failing NYC-Governor Kathy Hochul of the League of Shadows (Gotham's reckoning and likely attendee of creepy high-society masked murder-parties) seems to want to end the borrowed time that NYC has been living on, but Sliwa seems to want to help the city by restoring Zero Tolerance and otherwise giving police the tools to actually prosecute and/or process the homeless and emotionally disturbed. Sliwa talks about reinstating homeless outreach units, enabling police to have emotionally disturbed people taken off the streets and medically normalized (i.e., put back on their meds and/or detoxed), getting secure public lavatories set up to get waste off the streets, and restoring a proactive police force to stop the open sale of hard drugs.

You've gotta wonder if NYC voters have it in them to ignore the little "(D)" on the ballot and vote for someone who isn't trying to kill Leonid Pavel in front of them.

So Rugian lives in the projects. Now we know. I'm not surprised that he's poor, though. Thank God I'm not an indignant poor white trash cuck orphan.

It's really amusing how you can tell who has never resided in a city by their posts here.

SD probably thinks all of the poor and homeless people are locked up in a walled-off ghetto, like it's the 15th century or something. Lol

Newsflash: the indigent and drug addicts go to wherever the money and drugs are.

Let's say you have two neighborhoods next to each other, one that's well-off, a second that's middle-of-the-road with a bunch of naive college kids in off-campus housing, and the third is poorer but it has a hospital that runs a methadone clinic. The homeless will routinely travel between the three, collecting money in the first two and their fix in the other, and will effectively settle in any one of those neighborhoods provided that the police response isn't particularly aggressive (which it isn't in most liberal cities).

This isn't a difficult dynamic to understand.
