Elon Musk is the only guy I can recall that is never hurt by overpromising and underdelivering.

And as far as this goes, yeah a few years back there was some noise about Telsa basically putting Uber out of business with self driving taxis.

That is part of what makes the United States great. We like the underdogs and will embrace failure so long as you fail large and with some style.

An example is Eddie the Eagle from the 1988 Olympics. He was an absolute failure and the US went nuts for him.

Probably why we had President Trump. People like to point out how spectacular his failings were before he became president.

Yes he was as are many other sensations. And yeah the US did go pretty nuts for him. He was on all kinds of talk shows, people were buying Eddie the Eagle t-shirts and all kinds of other silly stuff.

Jamaica bobsled team another example.

Then again maybe we just like wrecks? That might also explain President Trump.

You do something with style and flair (doesn't even need be good style) you got a good shot at getting more than just your fifteen minutes in the US.
