Depending on the product type, I wouldn't even assume aggregate spending power of fit people was greater than fat people. An example from my college days was a person named Representative Lee. Depending on demographics of target audience, it was either better, or worse, to let the voters/donors assume this Black woman was Asian American. It would also depend on if you're garnering votes, or donations. So you would throw her face on the billboard or TV commercial in one area (to let people know she's a Black woman), or on one channel, but leave her face off of the other (to strategically let them assume she's Asian American). You might also run the donation-seeking ads on one channel and hammer home her stance on abortion rights (no images of her face), but run the vote-seeking ads on another channel, and hammer home her stances on immigration reform (video clips of her smiling at babies).

Its fucking everywhere. Go to any department or athletic wear store and it's all the same. To the extent that men are featured in advertisements, they're in peak physical condition. But the women are all fat sows. The most egregious example of this is a store for running shoes near me. Running shoes! Why is the ideal female model for this sort of place a 250-pound middle aged black woman? What the fuck! (And the male model in the ad in the other window is a guy; he's in his 20s-30s and is total eye candy. Because of course) I've been chalking up this trend to the theory that women do 90% of the shopping in stores, so marketers feel like they don't need attractive females in their ads. But that's bullshit logic. If I'm gonna buy something as a guy, I don't want a Chris Farley-type slob modeling it, I want someone of at least middling attractiveness doing so. Because I'm incredibly insecure, and subconsciously I believe that material things are going to make me look good. In the meantime though, this type of marketing is yet another step in the campaign to normalize fatness, at least in women. Hooray obesity! You're beautiful no matter how much you weigh. At least until you lose a foot to diabetes, anyway. For fuck's sake. (Happy ep?)

The slightest competence at coding should probably associate my search habbits(ski resorts, outdoors gear, hiking trails, etc) with "not fat". Likewise my wife and location are very obvious "not fat" signals. So i am left to conclude that either google adds is utterly incompetent or that ALL the models in their adds are fat, due to wokeness. I suspect the latter is more likely, but as that itself is a sign of incompetence, the first is entirely possible as well.

This taints their thinking. Its not that they are always just trying to intentionally push these ideas for political reasons, they often seriously think crazy shit and are rife with mental illness. So I coach waterpolo and swim on the side and this has been a dramatic increase in the kid's weight and their general attitude to work. When I say work I'm talking about exercising and not enjoying it. When I was their age I hated conditioning but I did it anyways and the threat of being kept home and off the team was a valid threat that I was genuinely afraid of. The vast majority of these kids would be happy to be kicked off the team and spend their time in their room. And this is across the board. From polo to swim every coach I've spoken too has been having the same issue with teenagers. That year they spent in their room during lockdown really fucked with their heads. This goes from poor kids to rich kids. They just don't understand that they need to do work before they can be rewarded. It is really worrying when you think of the further implications of this mentality.

Having an awesome wife is pretty awesome. Anyway maybe its a few years difference in age, or location, or sport, but i'm seeing a different trend with young adults on hiking trails. The popular trails around here are positively overflowing with the little bastards. Undergrads i think, mostly, but very large numbers of them. Annoyingly large numbers. Big hill climbs too, lots of effort, and these annoying little undergrads keep popping up at the summits! And its not like they are being dragged there. No they come of their own accord. Hmmmpf. Humbug. But only at certain places. If an undergrad does not post a photo of a mountain on instagram, no other undergrad will ever go there. So there are plenty of undergrad-free hills.

This is no longer just companies trying to make money. This is the result of the successful infiltration of HR departments and the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) movement. It's not just signaling, "Hey, fatties! We make clothes for fat people!"; it's mostly, "Hey, woke people! Please don't burn us to the ground! We comply with the Marxist demands!" It's compliance with a protection racket. To some extent, these companies believe that pandering to the woke means that they will be last to be put against the wall — perhaps last to be burned in a riot. This is, of course, a trap that some companies have started to wake up from. There is no appeasement of a Marxist by a capitalist until the capitalist is destroyed.
