Platypus Finance being nhill's most bullish play if we see a market recovery.

The other thing you absolutely have to be doing right now is using Arbitrum. It will most certainly airdrop in the next 12 months and early (and often) users will be rewarded.

Remember, some people got airdrops worth 5 figures from Optimism just from using it. They didn't have large bankrolls or anything.

Habebe I'm going to use this thread just because it was first by about 6 minutes.

"Nhill, My mistake on not clarifying I was talking bearish on the stock market soley.

I get what your saying about 16-17. But Im curious about historical precedence on a few things.

1. Have we had bulls accompanied by such high gas price spikes?

2. This is sort of unique (maybe not) that we are raising rates so much during a bear market, usually it's to cool down an over heating market.

3. I think alot depends on how big of a RE bubble there is and what forces are at play.

-------

But to take it back to Crypto, seeing a bounce since last night."

Ohhh I think we are on the same page then, I thought you meant crypto.

As for 2016-2017, that was a typo. The housing market topped in 2006, not 2016.

Still farming PTP, didn’t buy any despite intentions to do so, but I get scared easily and this entire year has been out of Stephen King novel. So every time I patted myself on the back for not buying as we crashed lower. I like PTP, I liked how they pulled the plug on MIM in the blink of an eye. Gave me good vibes, despiting holding MIM at the time. Appreciate the enumerated bullish case for PTP.

So far:

Arbitrum, you say? Im intrigued.

Ive been setting up to nab free airdrops. Many give you shit just to subscribe to channels and tweet. I can do that.

I have tonget a telegram but one gives you 150 BUSD to do just that.

And considering my brother in law is entering his mooching cycle, I can use the extra $. His cycle is predictable. He will pay it back, but it takes a while.

I would also add Solana to NEAR, it has a similar bullish case to PTP. People make fun of it for shutting down but it's still in beta too. It shutting down means they are treating it like a beta but people are freaking out about it. Plus you can ride the wave of VC capital. Not sure when they plan their production release.

Habebe, please don't get scammed. Those telegrams offering 150 BUSD are very often how people lose their crypto. Remember, you should NEVER have to sign or authorize ANYTHING in metamask for them to send you money. All they should need is your public key. That is always safe.

But I'd stay away from all that sketchy shit. The honest stuff like actually using arbitrum (instead of shilling it on Twitter) is a much more wholesome way to get free money. It'll take more time tho.

Dapps and bridge, consistently and repeatedly is the best bet. My favorite protocol on Arbitrum is Dopex, that is on my bottom buyer shopping list with NEAR, SOL, and PTP.

Remember the derivatives marker dwarfs the spot market in traditional finance. I don't think Dopex is a clear winner by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like it

I'm also 100% against LUNA2. I was cautiously bullish on it in concept but they lied, it is not community owned. The LFG owns 200 million worth of LUNA2 despite promising they wouldn't get any tokens. Just saw that news come out.

Btw with regards to my bottom buyer guide that seems to be coalescing here, I'm not a buyer at these levels at all, except for averaging down my $PTP position to stack $vePTP. $0.09 was the VC presale price for $PTP and that's my target for the bottom, but it would need confluence with macro for me to really ape shit it.

The way things are going I may end up being Platypus, lol. Lot of liquidity was withdrawn last night in the general crypto dump, people obviously getting more paranoid about even stablecoins. Bear market tings. But now my APR is ~20% on the stable even tho $PTP itself is down over 95%. I'm a gentle whale, I don't dump emissions :)

Gentle reminder to take profits and diversify into other assets next bear cycle, my favorite being my stagflation TradFi portfolio.

Habebe, did you check the terms of that DAO Labs airdrop?

There's only $20,000 BUSD to be distributed. You'll be lucky to get a single BUSD. The only way you'll get the full 150 is if only 13 people in the world do it.

Your math has swayed me.

I'll definitely look into Capps and bridging arbitrum.

But would you also have a better source for quality airdrop? Preferably ones that dont require hodling a bunch of tokens, which is why I was looking for the Twitter/SocMedia style ones.

But perhaps using a variety of dapps on networks is better?

I will just do what I'm gonna do and see the airdrops as a bonus. However with Arbitrum it is different since it is predictable. So, if I am gonna do what I am gonna do, I might as well do as much as I can on Arbitrum. It is one of the top L2 contenders and it doesn't have a token, it works fine, gas fees are low. In the unlikely event that the airdrop is messed up or doesn't happenm, I have not really risked anything, but being exposed to Arbitrum chain. I don't think that is a huge risk.

I don't have time to chase the freebies, I mean at some point it's not free, you are doing stuff for someone else. I charge at least 400 USD/hour for my labor, 6.5 USD per minute. EVMOS gave me 220 USD it took 5-7 minutes, that is 35-40 dollars a minute, not counting the half I staked. Reasonable :)

I'll check out bankless. I went to Ethereum.org and started exploring dapps. I'm down to earn $ anyway possible. A little here, a little there.

Plus some of the dapps look cool.Might look into a mining rig in the near future, I was cellmates with a crooked electrician who taught me a few things :)

I know I missed out on alotnofnthe ground floor stuff, but its still cool to get in relativley early.

I do appreciate you letting me ask you a million questions. Maybe when I get a new Camel hair robe I'll gtan 2 and send you one. Heads up they are about as soft as burlap though.

Haha that robe sounds like a great conversation starter. I'm in! And no problem, happy to help. There's a lot of shady stuff in unregulated industries so I try my best to steer ppl clear. It's definitely early, still isn't even closer to mainstream. You can check the chain and see exactly how many people use real crypto tech... it's not very many and most people have more than 1 wallet so it's even less than it looks. I have at least 35 wallets at this point.

Lemme know if you get serious about mining, I can show you some mining software I like and my favorite pools

As for the mining, I figure there will be a need for mining long after ETH merges to super Saiyan 3. Justt different coins, right?

First I'd have to build a rig.

>As for the mining, I figure there will be a need for mining long after ETH merges to super Saiyan 3. Justt different coins, right?

Yes there will always be proof of work coins. Worst case you can mine Bitcoin :) Check the whattomine site to see which ones are most profitable at any given time.

>Electricity costs about 13.07/KWH, and apparently solar radiation is 40% higher here.

That seems a bit more than average, no? I thought average in US was 10 cents per KWH.

>First I'd have to build a rig.

You could also buy something prebuilt. These days prebuilds have decent prices vs building yourself. I enjoy building and tweaking so often I'll go that route if I have time. But prebuilts are good. SkyTech Gaming is my favorite prebuild company. You can also do a Dell Alienware but Alienwares are pretty crap now.

You asked for crypto sources a few threads ago:

Coin bureau, on youtube is a pretty solid general information source on crypto. Well researched and proffesional, no shilling. It is run a by a company, the host is an actor.

Taiko Maeda, on youtube is one that Nhill gave. Good source for Defi stuff. He also has a paid discord.

Hedgeye macro show: paid sub 40 dollar/month for macro analysis. You get 1 month free and access to a lot of educational stuff and their proprietery method tha famous Quads that Nhill and I throw around. They also have a crypto trend tracker that indicates buy and sell ranges, this is however an added services I think 20 usd/month.

You get pretty far with these three.

Nim, I've recently added 42macro and macrodesiac to my sources. Both are freemium, kinda like Hedgeye, where they share overviews for free but the in depth stuff has a cost. Darius used to work for Hedgeye, he's basically the anti-Keith in approach and tone (more professional, less antagonizing). So it's a good counter balance. When they are in consensus you know shits about to get real :)

For you gambling investment types, IF it drops to 15k or less, imo it's worth a significant bet at that point. Of course, the typical crypto/day trading advice applies to never bet a life damaging amount on this stuff. This is Vegas weekend fun money type shenanigans to play with Crypto safely.

Publish Sirius once said a Long long time ago, something is worth whatever its purchaser is willing to pay for it.

Well, you would habe millions of ppl lined up to buy a Bitcoin for 15k.

BTC is basically just that, digital gold, its a store of value.

Ethereum and it's linked coins have actual utility past that.

"Does gold or cash have no real use?"

Since you haven't starved to death I'm going to assume that you know that cash has a real use.

And yes, gold is useful for all kinds of things. In fact there is some gold in whatever you are using to post here.

"Well, you would habe millions of ppl lined up to buy a Bitcoin for 15k. That's its use."

That's not a use.

"BTC is basically just that, digital gold, its a store of value."

No it's not. Just because bitcoin marketing crap uses gold colored coins to represent bitcoin doesn't mean that it is anything like gold. The marketing is made to sucker people into think so though. Bitcoin is less like gold than massively overpriced homes were during the housing bubble. At the end of the day after the crash, houses still had real value. There is nothing to stop bitcoin from dropping to $0 tomorrow.

As a store of value it sucks pretty hard.

Cash has very little use outside of people willing to trade you stuff for it. ts terrible for burning, paper towels suck up spills better.

Its primary real use is in the fact that its tradeable for other goods.

"There is nothing to stop bitcoin from dropping to $0 tomorrow."

But the same could be said for cash. Golds physical utility in electronics and such is negligible to it's value.

Money for thousands of years sorked as a way to transfer value from a good, service or often labour.

Firewood has value because it can be burnt to keep you warm and it takes a fair amount of labour to get it.

Electricity has value because it powers all sorts of things and it takes labour and some ingenuity to get, meaning its not like air.

Air keeps us alive, but isnt very valuable because we can all breathe it in anywhere with little effort. The same cant be said of firewood or electricity it takes lets call it fucks.

In order to get Bitcoin, it either costs money or computing power to mine it.Its not just given out freely ( well, you know what I mean, work with me In a little drunk)

In nthe same way that gold is used primarily as a store of value, or cash is. So is Bitcoin.

Cash only has value because enough people think that it does. To illustrate this point Milton Friedman talked about Island people who used currency with marks carved into them. The British would tax them by carving lines in their rocks, IIRC the book was "free to choose" but maybe "a monetary history of the US 1867-1960", doesnt matter.

The point is, what seems silly to some, marks on a rock, represents value and even generational wealth to some. Which makes ot valuable to those who beleive in its value.

Oh is that all?

"But the same could be said for cash."

No, no it can't. Not our cash anyway.

"Cash only has value because enough people think that it does"

No, US dollars have value because the US government demands payments in US dollars. And in fact if you look closely at a dollar bill you will see that it says clear as day ... "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private".

US dollars have a use, they are a necessity, and they have the force of law, therefore they have value.

Years ago people would have laughed at anyone claiming they were printing money at home and that it had real value. Now people think they are geniuses because they are foregoing the paper and ink.

Anyway, enough sullying this thread with FUD.

lol yup you fed the parasites and now they are growing ;)

the Celsius stuff has been known for weeks, they began blocking withdrawals a long time ago

that's because most of their Ethereum is staked on the beacon chain, not the smartest business move on their part, but the crypto is still there, they have to wait until the Ethereum merge to be able to redeem it. that might still be 1-2 years out, so people on Celsius are now long-term investors (or until a bull run starts) ;)

this is why I've stressed from the beginning to own your private keys, I warned about this exact scenario for over a year now

and like I said a few days ago, the weekend dump was a liquidity test to see how much bots would gobble the coins

$BTC handled it much better than ETH, so I think my 1.2K ETH and 21K BTC call is still in play here

maybe a statistical deviation under during peak panic, that's not uncommon.

or perhaps this key support level will break and Hrothgar will get his 15K entry. this is happening earlier than I expected, was thinking around July 4th would be the crescendo

I feel a capitulation candle going to 17k is not out of the question. Still a lot of liquidity around 800 millions worth of BTC blocking the way.

you'll always see low time frame stabs under support, but $1200 is holding as long term support for now.

but agree with Nim, a big liquidation wick down into the teens is looking like a likely outcome. really depends on how people handle the dump, will they try to catch the knife or just pack it in? stay tuned...

Binance is holding the line hard at 22K here (http://coinlobster.com/ filtered for 5BTC and above)

>Yea I saw the Darius drama in real time, feathers were ruffled, he pulled the race card and stormed out (with the secret recipe), cease and desist order was handed out? Been a lot of antagonizing lately. Have to check it out, but I have basically been under the impression that it is highly derivative. But you say there are meaningful differences, diverging and converging?

That's exactly how I see it. I don't like Darius, especially after he pulled the race card, but he is incentivized to be contrarian to Keith and also be right at the same time to "stick it to the white man", so I've added his free stuff to my sources.

Some huge orders starting to flow, 22K held for now, but probably not for long. Would imagine most of those orders were covers for shorts

the other thing to remember is that people are catching onto stablecoin margined contracts in this environment, which means liquidations only liquidate USDT, so you don't have the same deep cascade effect. can look on coinalyze
