why cant we live like this.
why do we have endless billz, obligations, and rent. why we gotta work every day.

why cant we live like old times. in da past, man just wakes up, sleeps, plays, when he hungry, he just walk 2 his yard and picks up apples and shit.

why do we gotta wake up every morning and go to work. this is pure slavery.

why cant we live like this

”when he hungry, he just walk 2 his yard and picks up apples and shit.”

What if you want a steak or a hamburger? You gotta have to hunt. And then you need tools. Gun, knife, axe etc. That shit is expensive. But lets say you kill a cow. You got to cut it up. That takes like a whole days of work. But then you got some meat for a hamburger. But you got to store all the rest of the meat so that it won't rotten. You will have no freezer so how will you store da meat? Put salt on it? Where would you find salt? You need money to buy salt. You could of course sell half the cow or trade it for salt. But all this shit takes time. So you won’t have much time to play any games. All your time would go into finding food, trade excess food for other items or other food ingredients.

Because we are lazy. Or we put our energy into living some other way. You could homestead to Alaska right now if you wanted. Being foreign there might be a few hoops for you to jump through but they will with some stipulations give you a chunk of land and you can build to your hearts content. Fish for salmon, kill a moose and jerk the meat whatever you want. Hell raise a few chickens if you can keep them from freezing.

Mostly when we are not getting something we want it is because we are to lazy to do what it takes.

If you think life was easier in the past ... lol!

Living an easy life takes a lot of hard work, or the luck to be born rich, or the willingness to lie cheat and steal while avoiding prison.

These guys probably spent at least as much time on the back breaking task of hauling shit up as they did on the hammer hammer hammer parts.

Pass.

yall dunt get it.

if we lived like this and we wanted beef or burger, we just buy it.

government should be giving universal income every month so we can shit like this and buy extra groceries and burgers if we wanted to.

so we can raise our own cattle and shit as well and if we wanted beef, we just buy beef or butcher a cow.

Yeah the program for homesteading federal land ended. It is possible from time to time to get cheap land from the state. I'm guessing if The Children wanted to live that way he could find a little chunk of paradise somewhere.

TheChildren you have any plans for how the government is going to get the funds for that universal income? If you want to build your own water park you are going to have to be self sufficient.

I would pay $10\month to watch TC live like survivorman.

They would have to give you a refund by day three.

Why? Three days of TC living like non-survivorman would be well worth the $10.

I bet he would last more than 3 days. Presumably even he could find water.

He would die from either waterborn infection, lack of food, or exposure, or likely some combination thereof, after perhaps 2 weeks.

There's no way he'd find water. He'd spend all 3 days writing in his journal how unfair it is that he's expected to find his own water and how much better playstation is than xbox.

Ok, so let's set it up where he had access to a stream, and given him a life straw and some basic tools.

Fire starter
Hatchet
Pot to cook in and get high on:)
Hunting knife

Idk, has anyone watched "alone" that sort of stuff.

I got five college credits for spending 15 days in the mountains between Aspen and Vail with only what I could put in a backpack. Was a good time most days but a couple of them there was a destination to be reached meaning spending the day hiking.

I did it as an elective but it was part of the Natural Resource Management program the collage had. At that time the only program in the country and you were pretty much fast tracked into what ever forest service/ranger job you wanted after completing the course.

Anyway I would do that again minus the long hikes. My knees wouldn't take several miles of walking on one day.
I also did a desert survival through the same program. It was ten days. They offered a jungle survival course in Belize but I didn't get to take that one.

So you spent 10 days in a desert and survived? It must have been a very small desert. Or were you just at the start of the desert and had a gas station on the other side of a sand hill where you could buy food and drinks?

Had access to water and water purification tablets. For the ten days all I had was what I put in my backpack before starting.
The hiking portion was done with a group but you were self reliant as far as only having access to what you brought. Then we were spread out and stayed in place for a few days.
I grew up in a semi arid desert so mostly knew what to expect. Others didn't realize how cold a desert can get at night so were a bit miserable during the nights.
There were two different groups you could sign up for. The easy/fun one just hung out on a beach and did a few day hikes. They weren't limited to what they took in with them.
I decided to go with the rougher experience. I was going to school for commercial photography but wanted to also photograph wildlife as a stock photographer. That is why I did the survival/orientation courses the college offered. They took care of my electives and were something I could use later. Besides that it is fun getting the hell away from everybody and spending several days outdoors roaming about.
Not all deserts are just sand and rocks.

Very impressive, both of you. I did a week with my backpack but it was next to a glacial stream in temperate weather. Ez mode.

Cool stories, kargen, would love to hear more like that.
