WASHINGTON—The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission, today announced the following online briefing:

DECOLONIZING RUSSIA
A Moral and Strategic Imperative

Russia’s barbaric war on Ukraine—and before that on Syria, Libya, Georgia, and Chechnya—has exposed the Russian Federation’s viciously imperial character to the entire world. Its aggression also is catalyzing a long-overdue conversation about Russia’s interior empire, given Moscow’s dominion over many indigenous non-Russian nations, and the brutal extent to which the Kremlin has taken to suppress their national self-expression and self-determination.

Serious and controversial discussions are now underway about reckoning with Russia’s fundamental imperialism and the need to “decolonize” Russia for it to become a viable stakeholder in European security and stability. As the successor to the Soviet Union, which cloaked its colonial agenda in anti-imperial and anti-capitalist nomenclature, Russia has yet to attract appropriate scrutiny for its consistent and oftentimes brutal imperial tendencies.

Quite right.

Putin is very, very open about his imperial agenda.

Frankly there is a reasonable case that Russia itself as a core state is still essentially a Muscovite empire and would benefit from genuine reforms to decentralise - but that is an issue for the Russian people.

Yes. Please decolonize Russia. I have previously said that on this path of decimating fiat and centralization of power, considering that the USA+minions are pulling themselves apart organically, something needs to be done with Russia and China. To some extent these countries are already being or going to be crushed in the vacuum of their own demography. Anything we the west can do, with our own last breaths to pull them down together with us, I see as a strategic and moral imperative.

This century is probably going to be very eventful as the deck is reshuffled.

Even if the US, Europe, Russia, China, and Japan, all collapsed, the one thing you can be sure of is that global finance will not be taken over by a bunch of shady grifters with their homemade money.

Global finance *is* the creation of a bunch of shady grifters with home made money though. We have gotten as far as we can trying to balance and control that behavior with regulation and reached the technical lifespan and inherent limits of the system.

When building a different system, it is to be expected that the shady grifting behavior will infest the very early iterations. This will take years.

” Even if the US, Europe, Russia, China, and Japan, all collapsed, the one thing you can be sure of is …”

… that American aid to Israel would continue.

Well, I dont think the US calling kettle's black will do much to enhance the Western narrative in the AU or Brick countries.

I mention this as the timing of the statement coincides with Russian diplomatic efforts in both of those arenas.

The Russian "The West will never let you get ahead, so dont let them divide and conquer" narrative is prolly one you will not beat for hypocracy and other reasons.
