The Associated Press @AP

President Vladimir Putin has granted Russian citizenship to former U.S. security contractor Edward Snowden.

Snowden has been living in Russia since 2013 to escape prosecution in the U.S. after leaking classified documents.

Murder calls everyone a Russian asset though.

I'm sure now that Snowden is a proud Russian citizen, he will spend all his time criticizing the dangerous and unjust policies of his chosen home. ;o)

"It's a term that has lost all meaning, its what happens when you cry shitwolf."

Only Habebe would stray into a thread about Snowden becoming a ... *checks notes* ... Russian citizen, and try to discredit the accusation that Snowden was/is a Russian asset.

"

So migrants with signed disclosure forms and pamphlets you think didn't choose their destination.

But a guy who had a layover flight and was forcibly barred to go to his destination with threat of jail chooses his location he was stuck in did choose his home?

How does that make sense?

"Only Habebe would stray into a thread about Snowden becoming a ... *checks notes* ... Russian citizen, and try to discredit the accusation that Snowden was/is a Russian asset."

Again, you literally call everyone including like 25% of US politicians Russian assets.

He's too frightened to free himself. He chose his prison.

A POTUS pardon could fix that.

"A POTUS pardon could fix that."

A bullet to the dome could fix that. Fortunately he's no longer a US citizen so ...

Murder, Do you find his leaking od the feds acting illegally wrong?

He didn't just reveal government surveillance, which is not illegal. That is why no one ever gets prosecuted for it unless they do it for their own benefit. National security is not a crime.

He stole a shit ton of classified information ... just like Donald Trump. He acted illegally.

Much of the classified documents were classified because they were breaking the law.

It even lead to acts of congress to tighten laws, which are still probably broken daily.

Clearly the NSA has broken way more and worse laws thsn Snowden did.

That goes unpunished.

Russia supports him as a political ploy because his leak makes the US/west look bad.

Continuing to persecute him makes them look worse.

Assange too.

"Much of the classified documents were classified because they were breaking the law."

It doesn't matter. They weren't his to take.

"It even lead to acts of congress to tighten laws, which are still probably broken daily."

Of course they are. National security is the federal governments reason to exist.

"It doesn't matter. They weren't his to take."

We will never know, he is forbidden a free trial.

I would argue, they were his to take as a whistle blower.

"Of course it goes unpunished. National security is not a crime."

When it goes against the Supreme law of the land, it is a crime.

"We will never know, he is forbidden a free trial."

He denied himself a free trial because he is a Russian asset and had no intentions of staying in a country he hates.

"I would argue, they were his to take as a whistle blower."

You would be arguing nonsense. You don't get to steal just because you decide that you are robin hood.

"When it goes against the Supreme law of the land, it is a crime."

National security IS the supreme law of the land. This land and every other land.

"He denied himself a free trial because he is a Russian asset and had no intentions of staying in a country he hates."

His charges forbid a free trial.

"National security IS the supreme law of the land. This land and every other land."

This is the guy calling others fascist.

Between geography and a well armed populace, no invading force exists that could hold US territory.
