And this is still the way we do shit?

===================================

Texas Tribune @TexasTribune

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton fled his home Monday in a truck driven by his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, to avoid being served a subpoena, according to an affidavit filed in federal court.

We can build a human colony on Ma...

We can put a man on the Moo...

We can launch people into low Earth orbit, but we can't come up with a better way of serving people subpoenas?

He responded in the thread.

Said they left because a strange man was lingering outside His house and he suspected it could have been a political attack.

Considering the recent spree of democrats killing right wingers, is he wrong?

” Said they left because a strange man was lingering outside His house ”

If he had a gun he would not need to flee from his home.

Damn your comprehension skills have really gone to shit. Not that they were any great thing to begin with.

Who played the he did it first card?

if there’s no call to the cops the he’s lying

on those space references, we did just crash an object into an asteroid, with footage of the crash... would’ve been awkward if some aliens were having a picnic there

So anyway, some googling shows he is up for election and this has something to donwith abortion.

Why am I not shocked at the timing.

"Said they left because a strange man was lingering outside His house and he suspected it could have been a political attack."

Even if I bought that bull, it's complete beside the point. The point is that in the year 2022 you shouldn't have to track someone down, chase them down, and then tackle them, just to serve them a subpoena.

murder is right of course - a court summons should be able to be sent to a perhaps-long-dead email account instead. That'll suffice.

Look murder, it's simple. Remote identification from afar might be good enough for the CIA to drone people, but it's not good enough for something as important as a court summons.

Try running from your tax bill. ;o)

i hadn't read the article... obviously the asshole was lying, the server talked to the asshole's wife first & said why he was there, so wasn't just some guy lingering outside (plus obviously there was no call to the cops)

just one of many reasons this asshole should be removed from office... an AG of all people fleeing a subpoena? (plus he's the treasonous asshole who originated that Texas lawsuit trying to trash the votes & overturn the election, which included the idiotic calculation of a 1 in a quadrillion chance of Biden winning after the evening of the election where a completely well-known-to-be-false assumption of no change in voting patterns in ballots yet to be counted was presumed)

"just one of many reasons this asshole should be removed from office"

Well, he is up for election. Hence the reason for the subpoena.

Democrats want the conversation to be about abortion more than anything.

Why do you think Desantis sent them to MV? Because Republicans want the conversation to be about immigration.

Its all political.

Lol murder thinks a subpoena delivered via mail should suffice and in no way could it be easily argued in court that the recipient never actually got the subpoena

"Lol murder thinks a subpoena delivered via mail should suffice and in no way could it be easily argued in court that the recipient never actually got the subpoena"

That's what court imposed fines are for. Start draining their bank accounts and you'll be surprised at how fast they contact the court.

And no. :o)

So murder is okay with draining bank accounts of people who have yet to be convicted of a crime.

No ... I'm in favor of ensuring that assholes don't run from the law.

That isn't how the law works in this country. You must be proven guilty. Just because some dickhead on the internet assumes you are guilty does not mean yhe government has the right to drain your bank account and ruin your life and the life of your family. That is why subpoenas are delivered in person. So no-one can deny they were aware of the summons.

"That isn't how the law works in this country. You must be proven guilty."

This is wrong on so many levels, but is irrelevant. Lots of people are arrested for running from the law BEFORE they are ever convicted of anything.
