So anyone else been watching this?

I think it's great - it also fits with my "genre movie in spaaace" theory of what makes good star wars.

It's John Le Carré in spaaace.

I only watched like 2 episodes but so far it's meh. It's graded on a curve because the sequel trilogy was so bad.

It's slow burn dukhat - gets better.

I do think it could have been condensed a bit.

Ya episode 1 was boring enough so that i only watched 1, but decent enough to still be on my list for indoor stairmaster season.

Waay better than the reviews suggest. Gibson's novel was similarly disjointed with a tinge of Foundation feel.

Sam:

It needs some time to breath - it's far more a cold war spy novel of the slow, paranoid, cold blooded backstabber type - spy that came in form the cold.

So it is intentionally slow as it is all very much about the internalised / psychological stuff going on - not event driven.

So it needs a slower pace to work - but I would say the structure appears to be 4 3 episode mini arcs - they could probably have cut out the middle episode of each.

jergul:

I'm one episode in. Just started for all mankind, which is pretty awesome.

My kids and I have watched most of Andor - probably get fully caught up this weekend - and it really is an excellent piece of work.

Rogue 1 is the best post Disney Star Wars movie. And Andor is the best series. Easily. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it besides most of the other Star Wars stuff is "fun" to watch. Andor and Rogue 1 are actual "quality" to watch.

Obi wan 80% was "fun/dumb" but ramps up the last couple of episodes. It's final episode hits hard, and almost makes the rest of it worth getting through lol.

Hrothgar:

The last episode - the scene between Lutheran and Saw.

The episode before - when Mon realises what she's going to need to do.

They director really knows how to convey so much by what is not said.

Me and Wife have been watching The Peripheral, it’s really good, has a good pacing and the plot resonates with the real world.

Started Andor yesterday, yes it is a slow pace, but the ambience of the SW universe and potential is enough so early to keep watching.

For all Mankind is good production, but the woke messaging is relentless and ultimately distracting.

I really like the Bosch series on Amazon. So far they follow fairly close to the books.

Surprise surprise willow is now a rampant homosexual.

Disney says it was "organic"

Disney's internal writing teams are explicitly trying to put as much queer and SJW shit into their shows and movies as possible. Don't waste your time watching anything that studio puts out.

Rugian, Apparently it was scrubbed for many international audiences.

"Saudi Disney" would turn Willow into a blinged-out douchebag metrosexual who invites young white women to his Abu Dhabi high-rise condo, rapes them and then pays them to be silent.

Still beats being a homo though.

I said that because apparently such an important part od theborganic story was totally scrubbed for Chinese and ME versions.

"Oh no, there is a gay person on my screen. Better censor it!"

And your response is "why don't we do some of that censoring shit?"
Rugian

Who was proposing to censor anything?

You are a bizarre creature Seb. When social media conducts mass censorship of political dissidents, that's just "a private company doing what it wants." But when end-use consumers make personal decisions on the media they consume, that's "censorship."

I don't understand your mentality or worldview. At all

Rugian:

Habebe is referring how Disney censored depiction of a hat relationship for Chinese and ME audiences.

But the problem you guys have isn't with the censorship. It's worth the depiction of the relationship.

Your attitude is default = straight white male, and why deviation from this must be justified by plot relevance.

And yes I'm deliberately using the word censorship in exactly the way you use it re social media. That's the point.

I actually agree it's up to Disney what works for them for regional audience.
