Utopia Talk / Politics / Left V Right on "Experts"

What the left routinely calls an "expert" is so ridiculous that it diminishes the respect any actual expert may get.

Case in point

http://twi...?t=iDPdqyRQVxcmSt3WkoBsBA&s=19

Alejandro is about as partisan as OAN news. She also has a dick.

NBC calls it an "Online harassment expert"

The other reason the Right and normal people disregard left wing "Experts" is they only go one way.

Someone such as Robert Malone, who by his work and his legitimate credentials, back when a degree had real value his opinions are dismissed as quackery.

And they may be, thats fine. But if an actual expert such as himself is spouting quackery, what makes the lesser partisan "experts" worth listening to anymore than Joe Smith?

This is all really just the tip of the iceberg, but I always find it humorous when lefties think they are right because self proclaimed "Experts" agree.

By the way I am actually an arch-Duke of online Harrassment and racism.

Life becomes a lot easier to understand once you realize that so-called "experts" are glorified idiots who aren't worth listening too.

This is the fatal flaw that makes technocracy untenable. It would be one thing if there truly was a class of humans that possessed superior intelligence and expertise on one or more subjects, and were able to ignore the traps of groupthink and popular fads when forming their opinions and decisions.

Such people do not exist.

It's why we have so-called "experts" today who insist on things like gender being an inherently fluid characteristic of human beings, and that there are 98 genders, and that protests during pandemics should be banned UNLESS they are Black Lives Matter protests because racism is a bigger threat to public health than Covid, and so on.

Ignore experts. Look with suspicion at the people who claim they are qualified to organize society and run your lives for you.

Rugian wrote a perfect post, congratulations.

Yes, that moment you stop and think "What the fuck makes an online harassment expert an expert?"

The wizard of OZ moment.

The funny thing is how the left, seemingly over night, accepted that gender is fluid and anyone who questions why a boy thinks he is a girl and vice versa must be a close minded asshole. And they all believe this because their media sources told them a fundamental truth they knew all their life was wrong and they need to accept it or be exiled. They are sheep.

"Life becomes a lot easier to understand once you realize that so-called "experts" are glorified idiots who aren't worth listening too."

I'd call you a committed moron, but I'm 100% certain that you run to a doctor at the first sign of a physical ailment.

Murder, Why wouldn't we go to a doctor, its difficult to get prescriptions without one.

Nah, who needs prescriptions or doctors? Who needs advice from Doctors or Scientist with many years of specializing in their fields of expertise?

Why would any Right winger listen to any of these people when you have real Doctors of Ophthalmology like Rand Paul telling us all we need to know about anything Medical. He sees it all.

It's not that the right doesn't beleive in experts or gained knowledge etc.

It's a general skepticism of what is considered an expert, how much stock/authority said expert should be given, what factors effect their judgement IE Do they profit or have a political agenda?

That sort of thing. Which is why I specifically listed Dr. Malone, well trained Dr. who actually helped pioneer the use of MRNA vaccinnes. But anything he said was deemed heresy from the left because he wasn't left wing.

So, Do they like "experts" or do they like them when they agree with their world view only?

Plenty of doctors/scientists will say there are two genders, not 57.

Again, this is the tip of the iceberg, but my break is almost over.

A post literacy problem to have to deal with experts instead of research.

A truth with modifications. But our culture is based on trusting only 3 experts.

One medical, one theological, one legal.

In addition to all the craft expertise like plumbing and car repair.

The rest we can check up for ourselves by perusing reasearch in whatever field. That is the whole point of a Gentleman's education :).

jergul, it seems to me that there are entirely too many who have lost trust in everything. Subconsciously they know they fucked up by listening to the delusions of Trump and those like him. In order to feel better about themselves they have to show contempt for anyone with real credentials that isn't wearing a MAGA hat.

This isn't about Trump. This started long before he ever ran for anything. These people voted for "W" not because he seemed like the most qualified, but because he seem like someone they'd like to have a beer with. The fact that he seemed like a moron was a selling point. Right wing voters resent people who are better than them because those people look down on their ignorant asses.

These people vote for the biggest moron running every time just to prove that while they may be stupid, they are legion.

That's also why they home school their kids. They don't want their kids learning anything that's not in the bible ... not that they actually read the bible.

Seb, Perfect example, there was a push against "food shaming" a few months ago.

It was promoted by the LA school district.Very "woke".

However, its important to know that a driving force behind the video and the "expert" in the video works in marketing for Kraft Foods.

Murder, Don't homeschooled kids usually fare better educationally?

The issue with public schooling is the influence of the teachers and their demon monkey Randy Weingarten.

This leaks into the school choice argument. There is no good reason to be against allowing parents to send their kids to a better school, this is especially a good thing for poor inner city kids who locally have terrible Democrat run schools.

However its less power and influence for the teachers union.

Democrat run schools? Are there no public schools that are in Republican cities or towns or districts that have school boards elected by Republicans?

If you want your children to go to a private school do what my parents did and pay the tuition for my brother and I to go to the Parochial schools we went to. BTW they also paid property tax that supported the Public schools in our district.

How do you feel about paying property taxes and having the tax money being sent to private religious schools? Or will it be OK if they are Christian schools but not Islamic Madras schools or Jewish schools? If the Christian schools are OK. Are you good with all the different branches?

"Democrat run schools? Are there no public schools that are in Republican cities or towns or districts that have school boards elected by Republicans?"

Inner city schools are notoriously bad and in extremely democratic areas.

"If you want your children to go to a private school do what my parents did and pay the tuition for my brother and I to go to the Parochial schools we went to. BTW they also paid property tax that supported the Public schools in our district."

School choice just allows parents a voucher equivalent to the amount the public school would be paid to let your kid to elsewhere.

Some public schools are great. Many are not. It's unfair to force poor people to give their kids sub par education just so the teavhers union gains power.

"How do you feel about paying property taxes and having the tax money being sent to private religious schools? "

I don't support that. I support that money going to the parents and letting them decide where tonsoend it. If a religious school is better for them, so be it. Should good stamps be barred from religious grocery stores? Hatfield meats as well as Leidy pork are both openly Christian companies, Leidy has a church on site at the plant (Ive worked at both companies)

Im also ok with Jewish and Islamic schools. Why wouldn't I be?

Im not Christian. We went to Lutheran/non denominational churches as a kid, but mabey once a year if that. I went to mosque as a kid too with a Saudi guy who lived in our guest room during desert storm.

So easy solution. Close all the subpar inner city schools and bus the inner city cuts out to the suburbs. Or take the children from their homes and put them in Christian Schools like they did to Native American/First Nations children. Locate all those schools in the Anti-Union South.

Lol. Patom has no idea what inner city kids are like. He doesn't quite understand that you can take a monkey out of the jungle and put it in an office building, it's still gonna act and behave like a monkey.

When they were rioting against "government oppression and police violence" what stores were they looting and burning down, patom?

None around here. I spent most of my youth in Philadelphia or near suburbs. I was actually born there. But I guess I don't know anything about cities.

So you didn't watch the riots a couple summers ago? Or are you playing dumb because you know the answer and it undercuts your claim that somehow moving inner city kids into the suburbs will turn them into good students and respectable citizens?

Patom, That could be one way. But I think it is alot easier to just say hey your school is paid X per year to educate your kid, take this voucher and go shopping to other accredited schools.

Parents have a great incentive to choose the best for their kids.
