For now it was only a special military operation. But attacking deep into our homeland is an aggression and a provocation that must be answered with shock and awe.

Ukrainians: you better flee to Poland right now, tomorrow may be too late.

Explosion Hits Engels-2 Airbase, Russia, Reportedly Damaging At Least Two Tu-95 Bombers
December 5, 2022

Engels-2 airbase, located in Saratov Oblast, some 400 km southeast of Moscow and roughly 700 km from the border with Ukraine, came under attack early in the morning on Dec. 5, 2022. Images recorded by CCTV cameras and shared on Telegram show a huge explosion occurring at 06:04AM LT. Early reports say three people were killed, six wounded and two Tu-95 strategic bombers were damaged as a result of the air strike.

Engels-2 is one of the key Russian airbases and the home of the 121st & 184th Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiments, respectively operating the Russian Aerospace Forces Tu-160M Blackjack and Tu-95M Bear strategic bombers. The airfield has been used to launch many of the Moscow’s air strikes with Kh-101 cruise missiles in the recent weeks: satellite imagery released few days ago showed 8 Tu-95s and 4 Tu-160Ms parked side-by-side at Engel-2.

Another explosion also hit Russian military base near the city of Ryazan, killing three people and wounding five. Reportedly, the blast in Ryazan was caused by the detonation of a fuel truck.

At the time of writing, the Russian MOD has not released any statement on the incidents nor has the Ukrainians claimed responsibility for the alleged attacks, so the situation is unclear, despite many outlets are suggesting the explosion in Engels-2 was the result of a Ukrainian long range drone strike.

Ukrainian company Ukrobonoprom has recently developed and successfully tested a suicide drone with a 75 kg warhead and a range up to 1,000 km. “After we successfully test the drone under the EW influence, we hope to be able to test it in combat use. We promised to do so by the end of this year, and we are trying to live up to that promise,” said the company spokeswoman, Natalia Sad, yesterday.

Certainly, the most epic self-goal of my lifetime. A superpower pushes its weight to seize a neighboring nation by force, and now not only is failing to achieve any objectives of the invasion despite massive loss of military equipment, life, and the skills lost with those lives - but the imminent ability of the neighboring nation to strike back deep into Russia. And not even with NATO weapons, but its own home-grown produced technology.

Russia, I fear, is stubbornly on the path of the "sunk cost fallacy" in Ukraine. Having spent so much military power, international influence, and economic wealth it seems outrageous to them it could all be for nothing. And yet by sticking with it, month after month, the pain will only keep increasing. They cannot win except by inventing new ways to describe a "win" to talk around the losses and unachievable previous objectives.

It's akin to the emotion-based refusal of the US to stop efforts in Afghanistan 10 years past when it should have, but much more seriously impacting to the Russian nation's stability.

"... and now not only is failing to achieve any objectives of the invasion despite massive loss of military equipment, life, and the skills lost with those lives ..."

Russia is just ridding themselves of their prison population. It's addition by subtraction.

The level of delusion you idiots suffer from.

But I'm curious to see what the next escalation by Russia will be.

III. Conditions for the transition of the Russian Federation to the use
of nuclear weapons

mass destruction against it and/or its allies, as well as in the event of aggression against the Russian Federation with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is in jeopardy.

18. The decision to use nuclear weapons is taken by the President of the Russian Federation.

19. The conditions specifying the possibility of nuclear weapons use by the Russian Federation are as follows:

a) arrival of reliable data on a launch of ballistic missiles attacking the territory of the Russian Federation and/or its allies;

b) use of nuclear weapons or other types of weapons of mass destruction by an adversary against the Russian Federation and/or its allies;

c) attack by adversary against critical governmental or military sites of the Russian Federation, disruption of which would undermine nuclear forces response actions;

d) aggression against the Russian Federation with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is in jeopardy.

Germany refuses to keep up with defense spending promises AGAIN.

Because Biden lets them, we need to flex on these vassal states, they know Biden is weak.

http://www...urce=Twitter&utm_medium=social

Trump would have given them an ultimatum, pay or else we pull our troops.

Fully within a POTUS's ability.

"Are the lights on yet?"

That's hardly relevant to Germany and their national defense.

I am not sure at all that Russia is losing badly.

It can just blow up the bridges across the Dnipro you know. I think it still just prefers to draw in Ukrainian re-enforcements as far as possible away from western surveillance+supply points and grind them down there at a relative advantage.

Internet scrubs give 9500 dead to date. An undercount, sure. Also remember 6-8k dead donbas troops.

Good. Ukraine should rain as many cheap ass drones on Russia's armed forces as Russia has been raining on Ukrainian cities.

Russia can always escalate way more than Ukraine. According to US sources, less than 100k of the mobilized have been sent to Ukraine.

But all the attacks are really doing is giving Russia grounds to tighten domestic security with a solid justification.

Does that not sort fly in the face of you hoping for a liberal palace coup to remove Putin?

This is a compromise I'm ok with. Atleast they are a better bang for the buck.

I need to build a robot to top trees. So a chainsaw wielding robot, that can get to very high heights.

Too simple. When I was in Thailand, saw a man use a monkey to pick coconuts. We could neuralink some to do tree work.

Nimatzo's plan is better than Jerguls.

I mean for real for real I'm probably just gonna rent a bucket truck and break out the farm boss.

But I mean, its really not rocket science to rig up a viewing camera and an arduino arms to a chainsaw blade.

The old electric company used to do it, but they merged and grew cheap & lazy.....maybe I'll.bitch enough at a meeting.

There's no need to choose. Just Neuralink some arborist to top your trees and pick coconuts for you.

We're just slightly evolved monkeys anyway.

Speaking of evolved monkeys. Russia may be able to take out the 30 odd bridges over dnipro with conventional MIRVs (rods from the gods type strategy).

Number cited is 17 tons TNT equivalent in kinetic energy.

It seems the obvious escalation once Patriot batteries are deployed.

Russia Is Using Old Ukrainian Missiles Against Ukraine, General Says

The missiles, returned to Russia in the 1990s under an agreement aimed at assuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, have shown up in rubble.

KYIV, Ukraine — Shortly after a large wave of Russian missiles slammed into targets across the country in October, Ukraine’s intelligence officials noticed something strange in the rubble.

It was the wreckage of a Kh-55 subsonic cruise missile designed in the 1970s to carry a nuclear warhead. The warhead had been removed and ballast added to disguise the fact that it was not carrying a payload, said Gen. Vadym Skibitsky, Ukraine’s deputy intelligence chief — an assertion now backed by the Pentagon and British military intelligence.

But that was not all the intelligence officials found. The missile had been built in a Ukrainian weapons factory.

The missile, and the bomber that most likely delivered it, was part of a cache of weaponry handed over to Russia by Ukraine in the 1990s as part of an international agreement aimed at assuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, General Skibitsky said.

In November, Ukrainian forces found the remnants of two more Kh-55 missiles, also with their warheads removed, and part of the same tranche of weapons that Ukraine had sent to Russia under the agreement.

Well, Russia is certainly ticking off all the boxes for using hypersonics to cut off Eastern Ukraine.

Sarmat with Avangard deployed.
Tsirkon hypersonic deployed.
Forces in belorus bolstered.

The Russian problem with cutting off all river crossing over the Dnipro leaves Ukraine with nothing better to do than build up forces West of the Dnipro.

Their only use after the Kherson retreat would be attacking the Minsk regime and Russian forces deployed there.

I am not really predicting Russia will do this. I am just saying there are reasons to be sceptical about Ukraine having a chance of reaching its intermediate war objectives (liberating all of Ukraine. Why people think the war would magically end then is beyond me. Regime change would certainly have to be the next objective).

I have a nuclear deterrent, you have weapons of mass destruction, He wants to commit mass genocide.

Same difference really.

After consideration. Attacking Belorus is the only real Ukrainian countermove if Russia does blow the bridges across the Dnipro.

I am unsure if Ukrainian forces in the East can hold for months without logistics across the river.

Will Zelenskyj be killed by his own? If the reports are true then his soldiers are pissed off at him and wants to kill him.

Or is Zelenskyj still in the US? Maybe Biden gave him an office room in the White House.
