If say 1/3rd of them are eligible for reparations, that's still a $77 BILLION price tag on the up-front payments alone. That's like a third of their annual GDP. I absolutely would not want to be a non-black taxpayer in SF right now.

If passed this will be another scheme where they generate a huge fund, few people if any qualify and the money vanishes. All kinds of hoops people have to jump through to qualify. I'm guessing they proposed this so they can walk back some to something just slightly less stupid and claim it isn't extreme as they compare it to this fucked up proposal. They want to forgive mortgages, credit card debt and other debts. That alone without the five million each is probably beyond what the city can afford. So of course they will ask for federal aid. When that aid doesn't materialize they will try to blame Republicans. This or something like it might pass but the money will never arrive.

Cherub Cow Member	Thu Jan 19 22:20:12 If this were to pass, what's more likely here? 1) Black communities all become obscenely rich, invest their wealth wisely, improve their communities, reduce crime, and become the poets, scholars, and statesmen of a new generation. 2) Not having earned their wealth, they immediately spend that wealth on idiotic consumer schemes, have their wealth captured by parasitic investments which effectively move wealth out of their communities and back into the hands of those who control them, and end up as successful and ambitious as Spooge and his wife from Breaking Bad.
