Member | Mon Sep 18 07:36:37 F-35s should still have transponders, right? Oh wait... "The jet's transponder, which would help officials find the aircraft, was not working "for some reason that we haven't yet determined," Huggins said." And "Missing F-35 Could Keep Flying For 'Hundreds of Miles' on Autopilot" http://www...marines-south-carolina-1827714 Wtf |

Member | Mon Sep 18 09:37:33 "You were saying about Russian pilots?" This would happen every day in russia, except they dont have stealth planes and cannot afford fuel and spare parts to fly much. |

large member | Mon Sep 18 09:57:37 Me thinks they are racking in significantly more hours than your average USAF pilot. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 10:03:19 Tracker turned off and pilot ejects from plane that kept flying? Pretty suspicious. |

large member | Mon Sep 18 11:43:54 6 hours per active pilot per month is not a high bar. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 12:03:19 Lol. Jergul making things up again. Average is a little more than 10 hours of flying per month. http://www...om%2010.9%20hours%20in%202020. Not sure what would be the acceptable number of active flight hours for a pilot during peace time. Honestly 10 hours a month seems like enough to keep the pilot from growing unfamiliar with the machine. The tracker was turned off and the pilot ejected while the plane was capable of flight. This doesn't seem like an experience issue. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 12:10:07 Well it's in the lake or it's in the ocean. Anywhere else would have produced a very noticeable explosion and fire. Transponder off, autopilot engaged, and the pilot ejects a flyable jet? Yeah, I'm not buying that this was an accident. The pilot should get locked up for life, and so should whoever the hell was running the training exercise. |

large member | Mon Sep 18 12:24:26 6.1 hours month for a fighter pilot does not seem like enough to keep one from getting out of the aircraft midflight. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 12:42:21 ” Transponder off, autopilot engaged, and the pilot ejects a flyable jet? Yeah, I'm not buying that this was an accident.” Not sure if the jet can land by itself on autopilot. But if it can the pilot may have agreed to sell the fighter jet to someone. He turned off the transponder, engaged autopilot and ejected. The fighter jet then flew to Mexico, landed, and was picked up by the cartels, Russia or the Chinese. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 16:40:29 Although, it would probably have been smarter for him to fly the jet to Mexico himself, get the cash, and then seek asylum there. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 16:49:38 An F-35 is not making it from South Carolina to Mexico. You're better off going with a "the fighter was hacked and stolen" angle. |

Member | Mon Sep 18 17:44:08 Apparently the wreckage has been found in South Carolina. |

large member | Mon Sep 18 17:53:50 Aww, it lost its stealth characteristics? |
