Utopia Talk / Politics / Selensky threatens Europe

In an interview with The Economist on September 10, 2023 Zelensky seems to be threatening Europe with violence and/or terror attacks if Europe cease to send aid to Ukraine.

If Europe now continues to send aid to Ukraine it is easy to argue that Europe is caving in to threats of violence and terror attacks on our soil and against our people. Therefore, Europe has now got to end all aid shipments to Ukraine immidiately.

- -

Curtailing aid to Ukraine will only prolong the war, Mr Zelensky argues. And it would create risks for the West in its own backyard.

There is no way of predicting how the millions of Ukrainian refugees in European countries would react to their country being abandoned.

Ukrainians have generally “behaved well” and are “very grateful” to those who sheltered them. They will not forget that generosity.

But it would not be a “good story” for Europe if it were to “drive these people into a corner”.

Dunno if he said any of that. But here is what he has said, with video. Don't trust Russia.

But if you google ”Curtailing aid to Ukraine will only prolong the war, Mr Zelensky argues. And it would create risks for the West in its own backyard.” …you will see that the text comes from The Economists.

I can’t view your link. Have to have an account at Redit which I don’t have.

"And it would create risks for the West in its own backyard"

It would - it would encourage further Russian aggression and destabilisation.

How in God's name can Russia's experience in Ukraine encourage further Russian aggression?

The war is a massive lose-lose proposition.

Though you misunderstood what Zelenskij said to the Economist. Civil unrest amongst Ukrainian emigrees might follow from a stab-in-the-back mythology that could easily emerge.

Is he wrong? Probably if we can lift our heads beyond knife dramas with traumatized former soldiers.

Is he showcasing his political and diplomatic immaturity? Most def.

guys u know whats going on.

behind da scenes we have known they forced da ukraine 2 do this war. remember, they didntallow him 2 do da peace.

but da war is long lost. so da colonial puppetmastas now thinkin how 2 withdraw coz thats what imperial warmongers do.

but from da ukraine perspective. they forced them 2 do war and now they abandon them so of course da ukraines gonna be pissed.

but had they known history, iraq, afhanistan, latin america just a few examples in da enormous list of imperial colonialisation. they wuldve known that is da fate of all da color regimes who do da bidding...

Ukraine shouldn’t have listened to Boris/ UK and the US.

First, in 2014, McCain and was it Lindsey Graham(?) was in Ukraine and inciting the Ukrainians to attack the Russians, telling them that they will win.

Fast forward 8 years to 2022. After 14,000 people been killed, Russia decided it had to intervene to put an end to Ukraine's shelling of Donbas, to save civilian lives, and to secure Russia's national security interests by demilitarize Ukraine and prevent it from becoming a platform from which Nato can launch attacks on Russians from.

Ukraine was shaking like an aspen leaf when Putin sent a small force of 90,000 into Ukraine. Ukraine didn’t want an open war with Russia itself (they thought they could just kill the Russians in Donbas because they had the backing of the US to do so). So Zelensky was now scared to death. Zelensky called the former PM of Israel and asked him to ask Putin if he is going to kill him. Putin promised to not kill Zelensky.

There was negotiations, led by the former Israeli PM and Turkey.

Then Boris Johnson of UK flew to Kiev and told Zelensky to end the negotiations immediately because the US and UK wanted to continue to strike at and weaken Russia. Or rather, the US/UK wanted Ukrainians to continue to strike at Russia. It was a good investment because no American had to die.

Ukraine shouldn't have let themselves be fooled like this. Now 400k+ are dead. Hundred of thousands are wounded. Lost limbs and whatnots. Country is in ruins. Millions of Ukrainians have left the country.

The entirety of US and UK leadership along with their lying media should be prosecuted and sent to prison.
