Damn son.

I'd like to thank Gaetz and all of his fellow retards for first killing the more conservative spending bill and forcing the House to vote on a clean CR instead, and then throwing out the one guy who had any sort of grip on the caucus in order to cause a power vacuum that the Dems may very well end up filling instead.

What a piece of shit.

Democrats are morons. They just guaranteed that the next Speaker will be even more beholden to the extreme right.

I'd say it's equally likely that a handful of Rs in purple districts end up voting for a compromise Dem speaker.

Are you on crack? Democrats don't have the votes to elect a Speaker barring a bunch of Republicans switching parties and that's not happening. From now on the extreme right is running the show.

Even purple district Republicans need to win their primaries and they need MAGA votes. Unless they are retiring, that's just not happening.

"I will vote for the Speaker who publicly and clearly commits to defunding Jack Smith's anti-American election interference witch hunts and subpoenas Hunter Biden while bringing a vote on the impeachment of Joe Biden to the floor of the House...."

'investigate their guy not our guy as that's interference... but just when its our guy... & the evidence already established...'

All the Republicans need is a tent for the circus. They could have forced the Senate to be the ones that hold up keeping the government open or agree to some things Republicans have been claiming for a few years now to want.
Instead they say what the fuck let's just do what the Democrats want for 45 days, kick the can down the road then put ourselves in absolute turmoil.
No wonder the red wave of 2022 was a puddle.

Republicans aren't going to vote in a Democrat speaker during a presidential election year.

I'd just like to point out that Donald Trump is currently available and will happily investigate Hunter Biden and impeach Joe Biden. :o)

WSJ is done with this shit:

"Republicans Cut Off Their Own Heads

A gang of eight ousts a Speaker with no plan or replacement in mind."

If it pisses off the establishment it pleases me. Let trump coronate someone he deems worthy of the title and let the GOP congressmen publicly state where they stand in this election.

Trump can do it himself. He can defund the federal investigations against him and his family.

Hannity: "Sources telling at this hour some House Republicans have been in contact with and have started an effort to draft former 'president' Trump to be the next speaker and I have been told that Trump might be open to helping the Republican party at least in the short term if necessary.

so fuckhead pretending he'd do it (& as if Hannity needs 'sources' about the guy who regularly contacts him...)

most likely he just told Hannity to say that to pretend he's got strong support & look like some savior (but an outside chance of him thinking he can kill the prosecutions against him if he did get in, which would be his only focus at all)

Trump could also launch investigations against all the prosecutors (state & federal) who are conspiring to take him down.

[TDS Bot]: "Rep Anna Paulina ([pretty badass]... obviously)"

Yeah, she's been pretty good on a lot of things. A key indicator of whether or not a DNC or GOP representative is a uni-party destroyer is whether or not they oppose ESG — or are even aware of it. Luna was one of the few GOP members to speak out against ESG in the May hearing:
http://www...rsE?si=Qt7FQCAUgX1-YbzQ&t=7229

Naturally, the DNC cultists unanimously support ESG while outright lying about it since they're all traitors to the West.

Oh, does tw know what ESG is yet? Probably not. The media silence has been pretty effective at keeping cultists in the dark.

..
[obaminated]: "If it pisses off the establishment it pleases me."

That's a fair metric on the symptom side, but it seems that CNN was pretty pleased with this outcome. They see it as turmoil within the GOP, and that's probably because McCarthy was one of the few people who could work with both the anti-Regime GOP members (e.g., Boebert, Gaetz, Gosar, Palmer) and neo-con war-mongers like Graham and McConnell (i.e., DNC-lite).

Still, the memes about Matt Gaetz being top dog are running:
http://twitter.com/basedspinach/status/1709343208549875779

Both AOC and Omar accidentally showed their latent attraction to Gaetz, likely because he's clearly a front-runner. CNN may be happy because of an erroneous belief that the GOP needs the war-mongers (they do for funding but not for votes), and people such as Gaetz would be a good start for purging the Bolsheviks.

It's time for a new committee on Un-American Activities, and Gaetz knows enough to start one.

word is Jim Jordan running... he'd be worse than McCarthy so probably will be their idiotic pick

though normally Speakers aren't on committees so if it knocks him off those maybe some pluses

"though normally Speakers aren't on committees"

Normally speakers don't get overthrown by 4% of their caucus.

Also, apparently Nancy Mace (R-Traitorsville) voted yes on removing McCarthy because he wasn't pro-choice and pro-gun control enough...WTF.

If you're a conservative, you'd have to be demented to believe that this was a good move.

All that's going to happen is that the House is going to be thrown in chaos, allowing the GOP to get NOTHING in negotiations with the Democratic Senate and President for weeks or months on end, during which the MSM is going to have a field day with making the GOP look like a bunch of incompetent buffoons who are unfit to govern...

...best case, you ultimately get another weak speaker who had to buy his position with even more concessions; worst case, a handful of moderate Rs say "fuck these Freedom retards already" and vote Jeffries in.

To those on the right celebrating this, please tell me what the possible upside is?

"and people such as Gaetz would be a good start for purging the Bolsheviks."

People like Gaetz are good for nothing other than blowing stuff up.

He doesn't fundraise for the GOP.

He didn't support the more conservative stopgap.

He destroyed the GOP's governing majority without having even the hint of a replacement in mind.

He spends as much time hanging out with the squad (hur hur, memes about AOC and Omar wanting his dick) as he does with actual conservatives.

He's clearly in this purely to raise money for himself and elevate his profile in advance of a gubernatorial run. He doesn't give a shit about Conservative priorities or party unity in the face of the Democratic far-left threat to the country.

This dude is a cancer.

I was being semi-sarcastic with the take on Omar and AOC to show tw that his idiotic support for AOC is constantly undermined by her politics and double-dealing. She's just Pelosi's puppet, and her politics are as illiterate as tw's.

That said, this was a comment I posted elsewhere minutes after my comment here:

-=-=-=-
Massie and Gaetz are both correct in different ways here.
• Gaetz is correct that McCarthy is not taking enough action to address the real threats at work, and
• Massie is correct that a lot of action cannot succeed in the short term and that McCarthy is giving a good basis to survive on the long term.

The key issue here is that Biden will simply veto any successful legislature. A perfect example is 2023 H.J.Res.30. That resolution passed the House and the Senate and would have dealt a major blow to ESG..... but Biden simply vetoed it.

So yes, Gaetz is right to want results, but Massie is being realistic about what results are possible before January 2025. Since the ink is now dry on McCarthy, you'd really have to hope that Gaetz can convince the neo-cons about the severity of our situation without giving the DNC too much ammunition to run their "extreme MAGA Republicans" talking point 24/7. The DNC will run that talking point regardless (just see Hakeem Jeffries' Twitter), but if Gaetz does not strategize with the 2024 election in mind then the DNC's claim of "chaos" in the GOP will prove correct. One thing is that they need to push forward some legislation that will make Biden look bad for vetoing.
-=-=-=-

You may be right about Gaetz just going for his own name-recognition, but it is also correct that getting big donors for the GOP is irrelevant if those donors are just more uni-party traitors. They cannot simply bide their time for January 2025. If there is no forward movement, the DNC will just rig the election again and finish converting the U.S. into a Chinese service economy.
