not sure what sites you visit or news you listen to but most sources I've seen from the start pretty much have maintained the no end in sight and could last for a decade narrative. Headlines like is the US getting into another Vietnam.
Neither country is winning and truth is probably neither country will win. To many outside players making millions to allow an end.
