SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A United Airlines jetliner bound for Japan made a safe landing in Los Angeles on Thursday after losing a tire while taking off from San Francisco.

Video shows the plane losing one of the six tires on its left-side main landing gear assembly seconds after takeoff. The tire landed in an employee parking lot at San Francisco International Airport, where it smashed into a car and shattered its back window before breaking through a fence and coming to stop in a neighboring lot.

No one was injured, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said in a statement.

Fire engines stood by at Los Angeles International Airport but weren’t needed, as the Boeing 777 made an uneventful landing and stopped about two-thirds of the way down a runway. Airport spokesman Dae Levine said the plane landed safely.

It was then towed away.

March 15, 2024

A United Airlines flight that took off on Friday morning from San Francisco International Airport landed in Oregon missing an external panel, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The panel was found to be missing after the plane, a Boeing 737-800, landed safely at its scheduled destination at Rogue Valley International Medford Airport in Oregon and parked at a gate, United Airlines said in a statement. It was unclear when or how the panel went missing.

Are these minor incidents regular things that we're only hearing about now because Boeing happens to be under the microscope, or are Boeing planes just going through an extraordinary run of bad luck?

It's really awesome to see the trifecta of traditionally cliche corporate evil, rainbow activism, and safety ineptitude.

More like the FAA is chronically underfunded and understaffed and government shutdowns have disrupted their ability to train staff as well.

They just did a spot check of one Boeing factory and found a bunch of non-compliant faults.

But we have Republican senators celebrating the fact that we aren't passing any legislation or governing so these issues will not get solved.

Remember that when Forwyn or CherubCow leap into generalities about how "muh government" is bad when there are real issues and real lives and real money at stake.

”If anything happens, it’s not suicide”

I don't know how to tell you this, but that's a telltale sign of suicide. Murders happen all day every day in the US. Do you know how many of them are staged as suicides? Almost none. Do you know why? Because it's not necessary and you're more likely to get caught the more you dick with the crime scene and evidence.

That shit is over-represented in the movies and TV ... which is where he likely got the idea.

It costs next to nothing to have a guy gunned down and blame a negro. If you want to try to make it look like something other than a hit, you have the killer take the victims wallet and any valuables on him.

There's no need to complicate matters by trying to stage a suicide.

I should also point out that there's little reason to kill a whistleblower AFTER they blow the whistle. At that point investigators will be the people to concern yourself with.

Eh, some of those black people are dudes...misogynistic is a bit of a stretch there.

But yes. If you're going to criticize DEI policies that undermine the standards for employees who build airplanes, keep your criticisms specific to that...don't just show a bunch of black employees who for all we know are perfectly competent at their job.

Oh CC. We have so much to teach you about discussing politics in a way that won't get you fired from your job :o

[murder]: "but I will bet a shiny new penny that it's totally not racist. :o)"

This is especially hilarious because murder just demonstrated through an interaction with wtb that "racism"/"racist" is a transparent thought-terminating cliché ("US Leader..." http://uto...hread=92693&time=1710800665001 ). In other words, murder had to counter wtb's bad faith and vacuous "[murder is] racist" statement, but murder has no problem using this fallacious dialectical trap on his own opponents. An ideologically consistent person would realize that perhaps the argument that he or she used to counter the accusation of "racism" could equally apply to those they attempt to libel with the same tactic, but an ideologically possessed person such as murder only cares about whether or not the lie can be used for power.

It's "theatricality and deception". I know you are lying for effect; your deceptive words cannot distract from the core weakness of you: your pathetic ideology. It is a remnant of the Boomer Delusions that "racist" is a thing that one must kneel before in penance like a submissive dog.

[Rugian]: "don't just show a bunch of black employees who for all we know are perfectly competent at their job."

Notice the implicit assumptions you and the others had to make for this characterization. I captioned the video "Mysteries of Boeing solved." Did I mention race? No. This is basically you three telling on each other through your assumptions. This is the leftist tactic of assuming that any critique of a protected class must be an "-ism" and that there must be mixed representation for any other conclusion to be reached. This is why newspapers have to lie by saying, "Youths," or, "Two-timing New Yorker" ( http://nypost.com/2024/02/27/us-news/daqua-ritter-found-guilty-of-historic-hate-crime-in-trans-lovers-murder/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=nypost ), and even then the left will say that merely *reporting* the event is an "-ism".

So if you think that was simply "show[ing] a bunch of black employees" and that it could equally demonstrate that they "are perfectly competent" then you may want to tune your perceptions. Things such as dexterity and competence are visible from behavior. In aseptic technique, for instance, there is no substitute for hygienic awareness, and this awareness is demonstrable through hand movements, IPA coverage, and the draw of one's attention. An important aspect is that nails must be kept short to have the highest dexterity. If people do not keep their nails short, they sacrifice dexterity by having to roll back the most dexterous part of their hands (their finger tips) and use the second phalanx/segment of their fingers to grasp.

In the first example in the video, you can see this person having to roll her fingertips back in her gloves (which do not fit properly; she is wearing gloves that are too loose) in order to grasp with her second phalanxes (notice how curled back her thumb is in particular). You can see the exact same thing with gloves on&off in the last person. Her job is literally installing fasteners (high dexterity work) but she has expensive acrylic nails applied (reducing her maximum dexterity).

There are direct costs to these things, such as work which is routinely out-of-specification, equipment damage from poor application which is not covered in specifications sheets (e.g., accidental stripping of screws), and an increased likelihood of failure before the replacement window. When it comes to employee incompetence such as this, the end result is that team leads and QA have to overcome the performer incompetence with even greater competence, outright *re*-doing work when an employee consistently fails to perform yet is "protected" from termination. Even then (i.e., even in cases of high QA competence), the position that teams are forced to accept is, "[I mean... it's technically within the minimum tolerance]".

TLDR: If you cannot see the incompetence in that video then I hope that your work does not require that you evaluate competence.

"The FAA found staff at Boeing's supplier using liquid Dawn soap as lubricant for a 737 Max door seal: NYT"
[Yahoo News; March 12th, 2024]
http://ca....oeings-supplier-051910262.html
• "The [mid-flight door plug] incident triggered a push to investigate safety standards at Boeing, which had been accused of quality assurance [(QA)] lapses for several years."
• "In an email to BI, Spirit spokesperson Joe Buccino said the company would work with Boeing to address the issues found in the FAA's special audit. [/] "Meanwhile, we continue multiple efforts undertaken to improve our safety and quality programs. These improvements focus on human factors and other steps to minimize nonconformities," it said."

For reference, human nonconformances usually mean that procedures exist on how to correctly do things... but the procedures are not being followed correctly by the humans.

There is indeed a lot of human incompetence. Starting with politicians underfunding the FAA to a point where boeing self-regulates extensively. Systematic workplace failures is management incompetence in practice.

But sure, blame the little, black woman. Why kick up when you can kick well up. But a lot less up.

In all non-athletic fields ever, africans have been documented to have inferior performance. Airlines and manufacturers have been hiring more black people. This will obviously have a negative impact.

DEI directly caused this crash of a 767, fortunately a freighter where only 2 innocent people died. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Air_Flight_3591

However there are plenty of other problems too: the retirement of the veteran boomers all at once, the trend towards hiring women in high tech fields, the trend towards managers with fuzzy studies rather than engineering degrees.

"In other words, murder had to counter wtb's bad faith and vacuous "[murder is] racist" statement"

I don't recall any such thing. I will sometimes say that I'm not a racist when comparing myself to a more horrible person, but just as a means of highlighting how horrible they are.

I can't remember the last time I defended myself from an accusation of being racist ... mostly because there's no point to it. I know who I am and no one can tell me different.

I don't like muslims. I don't care if I get called a racist for it.

"Foreskin of course came up with a nonsensical argument only fit for a group of uneducated white men sitting at a bar."

Yeah dude. Here's the drunk pitch.

Everh Boeing failure is listed as a failure because Boeing has failed to meet required regulatory standards. They just dragged a dude to his car and shot him in the head because he was going to state in court that they have had a decades-long issue with adhering to regulatory standards.

In 60 seconds, what is your proposed legislation to address clear deficits with one of the largest government contractors in history?

And now a 767 lost an emergency slide in flight.

WTF?

Although this is a 33 year old plane, so it probably has nothing to do with Boeing.
