GOP: We want to prioritize securing our own national border over Ukraine's, decrease the federal deficit, reform FISA, and support Israel in its fight against Islamic terrorists.

Also GOP:

- Passes massive Ukraine aid bill

- Fails to pass the House border security bill

- Passes top-line federal spending bill

- Extends FISA

- Passes billions in aid to "Gaza" (aka Hamas)

- Passes aid to Israel, only to have Biden refuse to distribute it because he doesn't want Israel to actually fight Hamas

With controlled opposition like this, who needs friends?

Our borders are secure.

And the border bill didn't pass because Donald Trump opposed it so ...

If you want to cut the deficit, then repeal the Trump tax cuts.

"Our borders are secure."

There have been over 9,000,000 illegal border crossings since 2021. Biden is waiving security measures to fly and resettle migrants across the country. Major cities like New York and Chicago are experiencing severe financial strain and turmoil from trying to accommodate all of the new arrivals.

How do you look at all of that and say that everything's fine?

"And the border bill didn't pass because Donald Trump opposed it so ..."

No one gives a shit about that BS Senate bill that would have done fuck all to actually secure the border. The House had their own border bill that actually had some teeth to it, but it failed because Johnson insisted on un-pairing it from the Ukraine aid.

"If you want to cut the deficit, then repeal the Trump tax cuts."

Federal spending has gone from $4 trillion in 2019 to $6 trillion in 2023.

If you think that's primarily a REVENUE problem then you're insane.

"There have been over 9,000,000 illegal border crossings since 2021."

And yet our border hasn't moved an inch.

No, Trump opposed any border deal because he thinks immigration is a winning issue for him.

It doesn't matter if it's primarily a revenue problem. More revenue would reduce the deficit.

"And yet our border hasn't moved an inch."

We're being conquered from within, yes.

"No, Trump opposed any border deal because he thinks immigration is a winning issue for him."

Even if this was true, every single House Republican ended up voting for the border security bill.

Trump didn't defeat the legislation, House Democrats enabled by Johnson's shitty tactics did.

"It doesn't matter if it's primarily a revenue problem. More revenue would reduce the deficit."

My man murder here thinks that you can raise taxes by $1.7 trillion a year (equal to 6% of the entire national GDP) and not cause catastrophic damage to the economy, investment, and individual wealth.

Never try to discuss economics with someone who doesn't understand the abcs of it :o

Something like 98% of these people show up to their immigration hearings. Republicans want to treat all of them like violent criminals again and separate kids from their parents and do all this Gestapo bullshit.

Dems gave in to most of Republican demands and all thry asked was for more money for judges and law enforcement to process the backlog.

And you stupid right-wing fucks act like it was a terrible bill without even knowing what the fuck was in it.

"And you stupid right-wing fucks act like it was a terrible bill without even knowing what the fuck was in it."

-No ability to shut down the border unless crossings exceed a certain threshold, and no requirement to do so unless another threshold is reached.

-Restrictions are time limited.

-Authority to enact restrictions is time limited for three years.

-Fast tracking of the amnesty approvals process.

Overall too it gave too much discretion to the executive on whether or not to go hard on border security, so Biden could have spent the next year touting that he got a border bill done while simultaneously not changing a single aspect of his (intentional) open borders policy.

I miss anything there chief?

Biden's policy is no different from any other president except Trump who went full Gestapo.

We can and should do better than fucking orange mussolini.

I disagreed with quite a few things Trump did or wanted to do.
He was pretty much on target with the border though. Shut it down, lock it tight and control who we allow in.
