I was on a call with some folks. Someone was bitching about not being able to get a customer on the phone. Most participants assumed it was some sort of identity thief or something. I presumed that he was just cheap, and wanted to see that we had the cheapest price. So I suggested sending "Mr. Patel" bait and switch prices. Prices that were real, but that very few qualified for. And suggested that, at that point, now that he knows you are the cheapest, Mr. Patel would suddenly be VERY available on the phone. The cheapo customer's ethnicity and name had not been previously revealed, but WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT if the frustrated other person asked "wait, how did you know his name was Mr. Patel?!?!" And all the 10+ year veterans laughed.

patom Member	Mon Jul 15 08:57:25 Not sure but I got my first computer 22 years ago and my stepson Aspire was doing the original Utopia then. I didn't get started on this until a few years later. This site actually helped me to learn to type somewhat as it was a practice site. I went to work at the jail and had to learn to type. I think I do alright now. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? There were a lot of good posters back then until Mehul sold it or closed it. Someone started a different forum but it didn't last long. I remember Hot Rod was originally Angel. Fred changed to Real Fred. I'm terrible with names and always have been so I can't remember all the regular posters. I suspect there were a few that had multi user names. Never did bother to learn how to do that.
