Not only are Republicans NOT cutting Social Security and Medicare, they are at this very moment helping to push through a Democratic proposal to expand Social Security benefits to millions of government workers who also earn public pensions, allowing them to effectively earn higher benefits than earned. This measure alone will add $200 billion to the deficit over the next decade.
