Utopia Talk / Politics / They think I have a tumor

So, I know, I've sounded a little unwell lately.

Just an update.

I'm waiting to see a specialist, but it's very likely a brain tumor putting pressure on my frontoral lobe.

A PET-ct scan and a neurological exam.

Kind of worrying, but oddly calming at the same time.

My grandson in law has had two surgeries to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Both times it sems they can't remove it all. Benign but still worrying.
Hope you pull through.

See if you can get into Duke University. A couple of years ago they were doing a treatment on brain tumors.

Hopefully it's something they can alleviate.

I'm glad you're getting medical care.

He will be in debt. That is the American way. What we do is tell the hospital what we can afford to pay them on a monthly basis. They can't refuse the effort.
We haven't got the sense to get universal healthcare.

Which is why doctors in the US have the highest rate of error in the West. They get to see patients who have waited far longer before finally seeking help

Well, an american friend who lives in Sweden who comes from a Trump family and says he can never move back to Sweden defends Americans by saying that we Europeans dont realize how much they are subject to massive propaganda

I am not sure if this was a typo, but I talked to habebe today and there is no ”they”, as in no medical professional has either disgnosed him or said that they suspect it is a tumor

There is a plan and it involves moving to another state, joining a rehab and there get a CT or MRI or whatever is needed so he can check that off if only for his own peace of mind. He has a friend in this other state who is able to be supportive in person and get habebe into work after he has finished rehab.

I am writting that here so we can hold him accountable to this plan <3 and not stray. Monday he plans to call the rehab manager and talk about joining the program. Habebe has a very active mind and obviously distracted and distressed right now thus making it more difficult to stay on one track.

I figure a CT scan would be easiest to get.

PET-ct would be proffered, but more difficult.

It has the ability to rule out multiple possibilities and does bo harm.

Tc, Price of what?

Hypothetically if it's a BCI, they really are not as expensive as you think.

They have more advanced ones than this for $5k.

Honestly, it's possibly a speech synthesizer or something.

Or a tumor etc.

Whatever it is, a neurologist will be able to figure it out.

Cost isn't a primary concern right now. Healthcare costs sometimes lead to bankruptcy, but untreated mental health issues (particularly schizophrenia) often lead to homelessness or prison or worse.

Habebe: You're not going to figure this out on your own. You're trying to make sense of things with a brain that is malfunctioning.

Please see a doctor.

We had a deal about rehab out of state. Where are we on that?

Nimatzo, I want to go, I don't have the money.

Ive come to the conclusion that, it is brain malfunction of some sort.

The good news is, that's treatable in theory.

The voices can't logically be real.

The rehab will give me a full physical if I can get there.

I'm sobre still, but, maybe a mix of stress, and drugs made something snap and damaged my prefrontal lobe.

It sounds odd, but I find this comforting.

Update

Starting a new job soon, alotnof my real world friends keep wanting me to just go to a local rehab, and seem to think it's a waste of time to try to see a neurologist.

I'm still sobre, turned it down in front of me and free, no desire to get high, just cigs.

Gonna save up, move north, and get better medical treatment.

I also have an appointment with my PCP to get a referral to a neurologist, which ever cones sooner.

Thanks again everyone for all your support.

You probably need to stay away from the people who put frugs in front of you. Willpower or whatever have you, is not anninfinite resource, one is a bad day away from falling in. Atleast this early.

You sound somewhat better, I am glad to hear it. Look at your DMs.

Please go to the nearest mental health facility ASAP.

You can't keep waiting for treatment.

I forgot you have a network in Philly. That def makes sense. I would do the same here (go from small place to big place, then seek help).

Good luck man. I can't pretend to know anything here, but seeking help is always better than not seeking it. I'm really glad to see you taking the steps that you need to. Stick to it and I guarantee your future self will thank you.

1. CT scan didn't show a tumor.

However they did refer me to a Neurologist.

One more theory checked off the list.

They didn't think it was psychological.

Hence the neurologist and not a shrink.

Something physical.
