Kirk, and many other people who advocate for the 2nd Amendment in his circles, are not merely saying that we can arm our enemies and all just be walking around keeping each other under the ever-present threat of violence. Nope. Kirk was also for mass-deportations and the dis-empowerment of the leftist slave revolt (e.g., ending DEI and whatnot). Would those not, perhaps, reduce the possibility that a random person would kill him in cold blood? Yes, they would. It's funny and perhaps inexplicable to a leftist, but if you have a society of like-minded people, everyone can have nice things without killing each other. We could literally be flying mini-helicopters to work because masses of people with great spacial awareness would be able to operate machines in 3D space. In a multiracial society? Nope. So Kirk has to work within this framework: we need to keep our rights to firearms, and simultaneously we need to create a society where the people who can access them are virtuous.
