At least nine people have been killed in a shooting on Australia’s Bondi Beach, police say. One of the shooters is also dead and the other is in critical condition.

Eleven people were injured in the attack, including two police officers. The scenes were described as “shocking and distressing,” by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Specialist officers are examining “a number of suspicious items located in the vicinity” of the incident and an “exclusion zone” is in place, said the police.

Speaking hours after a deadly shooting terror attack in Sydney at a Hanukkah celebration, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu notes that he sent a letter in August to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, charging Canberra with pouring fuel “on this antisemitic fire.”

Paraphrasing his letter, Netanyahu says Albanese’s policies, which include recognizing a Palestinian state, encourage “the Jew-hatred now stalking your streets. Antisemitism is a cancer. It spreads when leaders stay silent. You must replace weakness with action.”

Netanyahu says the attack was “awful. Cold-blooded murder. The numbers of casualties is unfortunately rising every minute. We saw the depths of evil. Pretty sad that Australian police, after having been warned about possible attacks by sebs against Jews for years, didn't even guard the obvious hanuka target at all and let the shooters rampage for more than 10 minutes. A wounded civilian had to do their jobs for them.

That's a level of incompetence so supreme that it still surprises me. We come to expect serious incompetence from left wing governments, but godamn that is a new level of neglect.

Why are you all politicizing this? It was just some Australians shooting Australians. There was no distinction between the shooter and his victims. All Australians. It's racist to presume that there's any way to tell them apart.

And like Starmer would say, there is no precedent for this kind of act by an individual motivated by extreme individualism. It was just an individual doing individual things against individuals. Collectives do not exist and never have.

A lot of people like to think that the type of people who would lie about things so egregious would stop before lying about other things.
