rank | Wed Feb 04 15:20:21 I rmemeber when Republicans opposed the federalization of state elections, with regards to the VRA, For the People Act, John Lewis Act, etc. Republicans do have a good argument for voter ID - it's a no-brainer measure and the public overwhelmingly supports it. But as usual, Trump has twisted the issue in the worst manner possible, sounding like a Democrat in wanting to nationalize elections, and all because he still thinks he won in 2020. Bad. |

rank | Wed Feb 04 15:44:36 It must be this laughably stupid and utterly unbelievable fantasy you lot lie about that dems want to lose all their jobs to murderous rapists, huh |

rank | Wed Feb 04 15:46:21 Because it acts as voter suppression in the US. That is why. The problem the republicans are trying to fix is democratic voters voting. Actual fraudulent votes are not a problem. Goodness knows you have tried to find examples of that hapening. |

rank | Wed Feb 04 18:17:21 All this was argued in last years push to make voter ID mandatory. I assume that most of you on here are males. There I go assuming again. One problem arises if you are female and don't have a birth certificate that matches your current name, you stand a chance of not being allowed to vote or possibly obtaining a 'real ID'. There are lots of women who have been married more than once and changed their name. A common problem will be those that change their address often, (usually poor people), who the Republicans don't want voting. The more difficult they can make it to vote the fewer poor people will be able to jump through all the hoops. Change of address means you have to re-register to vote and supply all the ID required. Here in Maine, when you register to vote, you have to supply proof of residency (mail addressed to you at your current address. Valid drivers license and in my case I have a passport card which is good. In other words I have already been proven to be who I am and live where I do. Fortunately I live in a town with only 1 polling station. They won't be moving my polling station to the other side of a large city where it will be difficult to reach in a timely manner. I'll ask you the same question I asked many times in the comments section of my Newspaper. Please publish all the names and court actions taken against illegal or fraudulent voters. I never once got a response with the information. |

rank | Wed Feb 04 18:54:16 You have to show ID to vote in Canada, or at least show a valid voter form, which you can only get as a citizen jergul is lying again, pretending that proof of citizenship is discriminatory or that this iwll be used to suppress voters. meanwhile we have months of dems confessing that voter ID would prevent their illegal voters from voting and thats the only reason they oppose it (or ICE) jergul, seb, wtb, and cuckhat need to be arrested executed for their constant lying |

rank | Wed Feb 04 19:58:38 pillz, show me all or any of the people convicted of voting illegally. It should be easy for you to come up with the millions that Trump claims. You can't have that many without someone bragging or ratting out others. |

rank | Wed Feb 04 20:21:28 As previously established, 19 states + DC explicitly issues licenses and IDs to the undocumented. Cross-referencing this with residency status is a nightmare, especially at scale. Basic safeguards should not require proof of mass fraud, they should be the default. This is such a fundamental building block of a representative democracy that if you can't agree on it, you are functionally retarded and your suffrage should be forcibly revoked. Get a fucking ID. They're free. |

Jergul, HOW! everyone has ID, either a drivers license or a non drivers license, literally I have both, along with a birth certificate and an SS card (which they say is not ID, but often require it to ID you) Homeless ppl can literally get free non drivers licenses. The dems will act like millions of people cant get ID because they are black, I don't know anyone who doesn't have an ID, and I live in Philly, so plenty of black people. |
