rank | Tue Mar 03 12:42:42 79% of U.S. adults nationwide are literate in 2024. 21% of adults in the US are illiterate in 2024. 54% of adults have a literacy below a 6th-grade level (20% are below 5th-grade level). What is the literacy rate in the EU? The average for 2021 was 98.77 percent. Jesus christ. Will, of course, get worse as more Usians use AI to read and write for them. We get worse at everything machines do for us that we used to do ourselves. http://www...0rate%20of%20child%20literacy. |

rank | Tue Mar 03 12:49:56 That's roughly the age that I generally surmise Magans to have begun to lose interest in developing an understanding of their social millieu and the world beyond the local mall, and freeze in time mentally. I suspect there's a strong link there. |

rank | Tue Mar 03 14:25:49 GERMANY Key issues - Adults in Germany show around average proficiency in literacy, numeracy and problem solving in technology-rich environments compared with adults in the other countries participating in the survey. - As in most countries, a significant minority of Germans have very low proficiency in literacy and numeracy, and a large proportion of adults show poor proficiency in accessing, analysing and communicating information using common computer applications. - Foreign-language immigrants in Germany have very low levels of literacy proficiency in the German language, even if their level of skill, relative to native-born, native-language Germans, is around the international average. - The relationship between parents’ educational attainment and literacy proficiency is one of the strongest observed among survey participants; however, that relationship weakens significantly once other individual characteristics are taken into account. http://www...g=AOvVaw3h-DVmIa0b0HwQbvUQ9xrT |

rank | Tue Mar 03 15:42:25 Its interesting to see what AI attributes this to: "Overall Performance United States Performs below most Northern and Western European countries. Has a relatively large share of adults with low literacy skills. Western/Northern Europe These countries generally: Score at or above the OECD average Have higher average literacy proficiency Have smaller shares of adults at the lowest literacy levels This means the U.S. has a larger low-literacy population proportionally than most Western/Northern European countries. Nordic countries in particular consistently rank among the highest-performing large Western economies. Bottom Line Compared to Western/Northern Europe: The United States performs noticeably worse on average literacy. The U.S. has a higher percentage of adults with weak functional literacy. Western/Northern Europe shows stronger baseline skills and less inequality in literacy outcomes. >>>Inequality<<< United States: >>>Larger literacy gaps linked to socioeconomic status and background.<<< Western/Northern Europe: More equal outcomes overall." |

rank | Tue Mar 03 15:58:24 Well, not really interesting at all. Even the ruginas and scams know full well about that, they just pretend its all about eternally superior vs inferior races and the superior ones are allowed to harm and kill the inferior ones. And, oh what a shocker, they happen to belong to the one thats allowed to harm and kill the others |

rank | Tue Mar 03 16:05:48 The USA is in 10th place for GDP per capita - although all numbers that are averaged out across the entire population are easy to misconstrue. The US has a tiny fraction that is massively wealthy included there. 2 islands each with a population of 10 people: the one with an Elon Musk and 9 homeless people has a higher GDP per capita than the one with 10 Trumps. |

rank | Tue Mar 03 16:25:09 According to OECD data for 2024 (Wikipedia) adjusted for purchasing power parity, the United States has an average annual wage of $82,933, while France has an average annual wage of $54,564. This means the average US wage is about 52% higher than the average French wage |
