My annualized returns for my (fairly standard) portfolio were about 8.4% under Biden, and so far they're 18.9% under Trump. 2021, 2023, and 2024 were all extremely good years with returns ranging between 14%-19%, but 2022 was an absolute disaster and weighed those other three years down. Overall I'm doing better under Trump, but he's clearly pumping the markets. Pre-Covid I would have been happy with an 8.4% return, but when inflation was running so hot during 2021-2024 that number looks a lot less attractive. Either way, no that security guard isn't getting blown by his wife because he knows how to invest in the S&P. |
