Trump is right. The US doesn’t need the Strait of Hormuz. It is not important for the USA. USA is self sufficient. It is Europe and China who uses it.

It makes sense that Trump was asking Europe and China to patrol the Strait. Why should the US do it for Europe and China?

Just in case Iranians misunderstood and thought the war was about regime change and was not an attack on Iranians themselves.

Powerplants are dual purpose and they are valid war targets. This has been established by the West a long time ago. Proportionality does not apply either as that principle is elective.
