rank | Fri Apr 03 16:34:02 US fighter jet shot down over Iran, search underway for crew, US official says A U.S. fighter jet was shot down over Iran and a search and rescue operation was underway for any survivors, a U.S. official told Reuters on Friday. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not offer further details. The Pentagon and U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to requests for comment. https://ww...w-us-official-says-2026-04-03/ |

rank | Fri Apr 03 16:35:17 That's the closest thing to a confirmation that we're going to get. - |

rank | Fri Apr 03 16:37:23 You don't need to wait for government functionarys to move their mouths for confirmation. There are other ways. |

rank | Fri Apr 03 17:54:40 Just have to hope the SAR team suffers losses, now Then we can have ourselves a proper ground war. |

rank | Fri Apr 03 22:07:24 An A-10 supposedly also went down in Iraq. |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Fri Apr 03 22:32:20 Sounds like durring the rescue mission an a-10 was fatally damaged... It limped out of Iran before the pilot bailed and he was rescued. 2 American jets in a day. Oh boy oh boy. Sure your getting your butts kicked all over the field but for a brief moment you can shine. This is your big day jergul! |
|
jergul
rank | Fri Apr 03 23:40:22 That is why you just lob missiles from great distances sammy. You and Israel have lost North of 150 ACAVs too incidentally. That airspace is not safe for you. |
|
jergul
rank | Fri Apr 03 23:41:53 Also, 14 days past when the US captured Bagdad in 2003. You are not the military you once were. |
|
jergul
rank | Fri Apr 03 23:47:05 There is a video out there of a newer Iranian missiles avoiding 12 Israeli interceptors. The good news I suppose is that Israel still has enough interceptors to burn of 12 of them versus a single missile. The bad news of course is that the missile obviously was targetting something pretty important. Too bad about the news embargo from Israel. We are probably missing spectacular scenes. |

rank | Sat Apr 04 00:38:33 "You and Israel have lost North of 150 ACAVs too incidentally." Lol soviet random number generator in action again. "past when the US captured Bagdad in 2003" A pure air campaign didn't take a city? Oh wow. Military genius you are. Amazing discovery. Lol "There is a video out there of a newer Iranian missiles avoiding 12 Israeli interceptors." No there isn't. |

rank | Sat Apr 04 00:43:39 "Sure your getting your butts kicked all over the field but for a brief moment you can shine. This is your big day jergul!"" Lol, I was just discussing the illiteracy of rightwing extremists with an American friend, and how none of them know the difference between you're and your. You can almost always tell they're Maga by that one. |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 00:43:55 A regime change campaign that did not have a ground component? You lost the war before it began. The belated surge with ground capacity is numbered in the low 1000nds. Rofl. GG. You are not the military you were in 2003. Not even close. https://ww...ypersonic_missile_dribbles_12/ |

Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 01:38:53 Ya we are trying to regime change Iran on the cheap. Might work. Might not. If it doesn't we smash everything that is military and take karg island and go home. The regime probably won't survive that long term either but at the least we trash everything dangerous. Win win. |

Pillz
rank | Sat Apr 04 02:40:54 Sam's obviously taking Whatever wtb is This lack of contextual ability is confounding. |
|
murder
rank | Sat Apr 04 04:55:35 "If it doesn't we smash everything that is military and take karg island and go home." We can't hold Kharg Island, and there'd be no point. If we don't smash it, Iran will with our troops there. Taking it would just be to force Iran to cough up their highly enriched uranium and reopen the strait. But I'm not sure Trump's poll numbers would survive that kind of operation. - |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 04:58:37 ”We can't hold Kharg Island” Lol wanna bet? |
|
murder
rank | Sat Apr 04 07:49:40 Sure. - |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 10:51:42 You cant take Kharg Island. Doing that will take 15 million barrels a day out of the global economy permanently. That means price stabilization north of 200 barrels a day. Because everyone needs oil and price sensitivity will not reduce demand enough below the 200 dollar mark. It is worse for natural gas of course, but lets not get into that. And even if you could, it would be stupid. The installation would still get destroyed as Iranians engage US troops there. Which would also be followed up by everything else oil related in the gulf getting destroyed. Not to mention the fictional capability. You cant capture Kharg without naval assets and naval assets cannot approach closer than the Indian Ocean. Sam's fanfiction is delulu. |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 10:55:46 Also, Russia tried forcing Ukraine back in line on the cheap. See how that played out for them. What is your plan when it became obvious after the first few days that on the cheap was not viable? Just burn money until something magic happens? Lol. We saw the WH proposal. It wants to add another 750 billion dollars a year onto federal debt gains. So 3 trillion dollars a year federal deficit. 750 billion is not a random number. It is a decent estimate of what this will cost per year. |
|
murder
rank | Sat Apr 04 14:02:12 "Not to mention the fictional capability. You cant capture Kharg without naval assets and naval assets cannot approach closer than the Indian Ocean." That's what the 82nd Airborne is for. Of course there's no way to sustain them once they are there. - |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 18:25:53 Lol jergul math. ”You cant take Kharg Island. Doing that will take 15 million barrels a day out of the global economy permanently." In reality the entire country of Iran produces 3 million barrels per day. Lol oops. |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 19:19:50 Sammy smoothbrain Tit-for-tat will take out every other oil exporting asset in the region. It will probably be worse than 15 million barrels a day because I am not including the SA 4 million barrel a day bypass pipeline going to the red sea that will also be gone. Boy, you dont understand much at all. Still stupid and silly after all these years. Amazing. |

rank | Sat Apr 04 19:22:45 Murder One of the Marine carriers lacks well decks, so has only air assault capability. But it too has to be in range. The proposition is just so incredibly silly. But....well...Trump tends to order silly things and continues to purge his general staff to make room for yes-men. So who knows. |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 19:26:46 "Tit-for-tat will take out every other oil exporting asset in the region." You said that six other times already. |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 19:46:25 And yet you did not understand that. Amazing. |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 20:07:32 Well when you make a prediction 6 times and it doesn't happen you get ignored. Weird. |
|
jergul
rank | Sat Apr 04 20:38:54 So stupid. First, they have done tit-for-tat attacks which immediately led ME states to pressure the US to stop what triggered them. Secondly, Iran has negative control of the strait, so has no need to seriously impede production and storage. Thirdly, Iranian oil and gas production continues unabated. It has no grounds to pull the trigger on the deterrents keeping you from targetting them. You are simply dumb. |
|
Sam Adams
rank | Sat Apr 04 21:09:41 "we didn't take keeeeev because we didn't want to" Lol same vibes. Haha sovuets |

rank | Sat Apr 04 22:16:57 "One of the Marine carriers lacks well decks, so has only air assault capability. But it too has to be in range. The proposition is just so incredibly silly." The 82nd Airborne would operate out of Kuwait ... I assume. But again, if Burke's won't dare traverse the strait, there's no way small unarmed/lightly armed resupply ships are going to try to make it to Kharg Island. - |
