Will Iran be bombed back into the Stone Ages?

Will Trump decide to partake in some TACO Tuesday?

Will the markets ever stop falling for early morning White House statements that are clearly designed to make them pump?

Will Congress ever do anything?

Hans, are we the baddies?

Stay tuned everyone. 8:00 PM tonight!

A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Iran claims victory, says it forced US to accept 10-point plan
By Michael Rios
Iran says it has achieved a great victory and forced the United States to accept its 10-point plan, according to a statement from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

As part of the plan, the US has in principle agreed to lift all primary and secondary sanctions against Iran and to withdraw US combat forces from all bases in the region, the council said.

It has also agreed to accept Iran’s nuclear enrichment and recognize its continued control over the Strait of Hormuz, according to the council. Controlled passage through the waterway would be carried out “in coordination with Iran’s armed forces,” it added.

CNN is reaching out to US officials for comment.

“The enemy, in its unfair, unlawful, and criminal war against the Iranian nation, has suffered an undeniable, historic, and crushing defeat,” the council statement read.

“Our hands remain on the trigger, and at the slightest mistake by the enemy, a full-force response will be delivered,” it warned.

I can’t believe that Iran has agreed to abandon any of its demands. If they have it is a mistake. In fact, this supposed ”ceasefire” is surprising because Iran has said that they are not interested in a ceasefire, only in a complete cessation of hostilities. Did the US in fact agree to a complete cessation of hostilities against Iran, but they are spinning it as a ”ceasefire” and a ”victory”?

The US will have to agree to all of Iran’s ten points. If not, Iran must continue to strike US assets in the region and continue until the US caves. But Iran should probably continue to strike US assets nonetheless because we know that the US can not be trusted. The best is to continue striking them until every trace of them is gone from the Middle East.

But if it’s true that Trump has had enough and that the US has agreed to stop its attacks on Iran, it’s a win for Iran. Iran can continue to retaliate against Israel and keep striking them until its people rise up and overthrows its genocidal fascist regime.

It does not matter at this point. Iran lucked out with a pro tariff US president. Nationalizing narrow straits rolls back one of the great colonial successes. Freedom on navigation is the keystone to resource exploitation (raw materials to industrial countries paid for with trinkets sent back. Industrialization in the developing world very difficult. Insert costs like transport tariffs and local industrialization starts to make a lot more sense).

Nevermind that it gives Iran (and Oman) a sanction proof revenue stream. It also encourages better development in the ME. Why export crude when products can be fully refined and the value added harvested in the gulf countries instead of abroad?
jergul
rank
Wed Apr 08 10:28:37
Ironically, this development aligns Iran closer to the vision the last shah had for the country. He always thought it was silly to export oil in barrel form and certainly believed Iran should master and use the nuclear cycle.

Wed Apr 08 10:33:55
As to the deal itself. Oil will struggle against fundamentals. It will take a long time for production to match consumption. The deficit in the meantime will press oil back up to 110-120 range (my estimate). Not sentiment driven like until now. There is just not enough oil on the market and the way to balance that is to throttle demand slightly using pricing mechanisms. My range is about where demand will actually decrease as oil consumption is not really that price sensitive.
