If youre against foregin intervention, that sounds like you think all you should be doing is making sure your borders are well defended.

Dont you get that the amount of money you spend on the military is hugely exaggerated for that objective?

...and that youre probably buying all the wrong kinds of weaponry for that?

...and training? That your military is singularly trained and equipped for offensive war in other parts of the world rather than defense of your borders?

It also acts a giant welfare program (individual and corporate)

Hence part of the jacked up cost.

It costs anywhere from $75k-million per soldier when you account for pensions, healthcare, housing benefits, disabiliry school tuition etc.

The number is averaged to include full life benefits.

The corporate welfare involved dwarfs it.

"basically, your entire military force is created and structured for foreign interventions."

Of course. We have friendly neighbors to our north and south and oceans to our east and west. The closest thing to a threat in our neighborhood is Cuba, and the biggest threat they pose is mass migration.

That's why we can afford to park entire armies halfway around the world in Iraq and Afghanistan for two decades without fear of invasion.
