You don't need to authorize anything if you just pretend it isn't happening, or if you pretend it's a humanitarian mission instead, or pretend that the clock resets with the ceasefire, or any other bullshit they want to come up with. -

Congress has no ability to stop this, the WPA has been a dead letter since at least Obama. The only thing they could potentially do is cut next year's budget for the DoD, but that would never happen and even if it did, Trump would likely just instruct the Treasury Department to continue funding the military anyway, because who's going to stop him? Congress is not a co-equal branch of government. The Imperial Presidency has returned with a vengeance. He who occupies the White House runs the country on his own, tempered only by opposition judges in the judiciary. * Trump even flat-out called the operations against Iran a "war" on Truth Social today. He doesn't give a fuck, he knows he can do whatever he wants here.
