You know why we knew how many USMC soldiers died in 2003? The DoD released a press statement for each engagement. After Action Reports sanitized to adher to opsec.

Now it is a black hole. Like that incredibly brave colonel gaining direct experience to employ in his staff job. He may exist. It is possible. But "colonel" also fits well with just inventing shit to smoke-screen the botched uranium recovery attempt that we know almost nothing about.

Where is the announcement for his medal? Or his name even. The US does not historically do stealth and secret heroes.
