Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky has faced a barrage of attacks from President Trump heading into Tuesday's primary against former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, who has the president's endorsement.

In the days leading up to the contest in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District, Mr. Trump has labeled Massie "the worst congressman in the history of our country" and has called him "a disloyal, ungracious, and sanctimonious FOOL." He has also threatened to primary other congressional Republicans who have campaigned with Massie, who has voted against several of the president's legislative priorities, opposed the war with Iran and defied him in pushing for the release of the Epstein files.

Trump Has Posted About Massie At Least 11 Times In 2 Days Ahead Of Tuesday’s Primary

Trump called Massie an “obstructionist and a fool” in a post on Monday, a “disloyal, ungracious, and sanctimonious FOOL” in a post on Saturday, and a “Weak and Pathetic RINO [Republican in name only]” on Sunday.

Calling him the “worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country,” Trump said Sunday that Massie is “an even bigger insult to our Nation than Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana,” who was defeated in a primary Saturday after Trump campaigned against him over Cassidy’s vote to convict Trump in his 2021 impeachment trial.

Trump also called for a challenger to Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., in a post on Saturday over Boebert’s support for Massie, writing that he would pull his endorsement for her for a “good and proper alternative” and calling Boebert “Weak Minded.”

Trump has also posted several links to allegations against Massie related to his ex-girlfriend Cynthia West, who accused Massie of offering her money to drop a wrongful termination lawsuit she filed against one of his congressional allies (Massie has denied the allegations and accused West of trying to hurt his reelection campaign).

Massie’s primary Tuesday against Trump-backed retired Navy SEAL captain Ed Gallrein is the latest test of Trump’s influence in the GOP and is the most expensive House race in history, as pro-Israel groups have spent millions to topple Massie.

Massie wanted Epstein files out (so that's enough), but also tried to reign in the 'president's war powers, & was against the child-named 'Big Beautiful Bill' because it adds trillions to the debt (such a non Republican!)

Boebert also wanted the Epstein files out. You know who doesn't want to Epstein files out? Trump and his pedo buddies.

GOP voters are cleaning house of any dissenters.

It's not Trump, it's the masses. It's the party.

"It's not Trump, it's the masses. It's the party."

The masses who are easily swayed by ad campaigns.

The average voter isn't obsessively following any Trump post on Truth Social. They are targeted by personalized ad campaigns specifically designed to sway their vote. And too often it works.

Donald Trump was first elected in 2016. Anyone who didn't know who he was before then has had a full decade to see what he's about.

GOP voters are not being fooled. They support Donald Trump and they support what he does. They crush all opposition in the party.

And the worst part is that ~ half of independents do too.

This is what half the nation has embraced.

It's only going to get worse.

Judging the entire country based on the results of closed party primary elections (which only the most zealous and motivated diehard voters show up to) is a little strong.

Trunp won in 2024 because the public perceived that he was better than Kamala (he was) and were angry that Biden had led a wildly incompetent and unpopular administration (he did).

And Trump is great at driving enthusiasm amongst his base, so he tends to do well in closed GOP primary contests.

Neither of these translate to Americans as a whole endorsing him or his conduct.

[AIPAC]:
Ed Gallrein’s victory in KY and Clay Fuller’s win in GA ensures two outspoken pro-Israel voices are positioned to fill seats previously held by outspoken detractors, Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Our community was proud to help pro-Israel candidates win these races.

All jews, subverted leftists, and jew-loving Anti-Christs ("Christian Zionists") will need to be disenfranchised. They are outright pushing for foreigners to control our elections, and their god is the Devil. These people are traitors and in many cases will need to be hanged by the neck until dead. Mass-disenfranchisement of these traitors is the moderate position at this point.

"Judging the entire country based on the results of closed party primary elections (which only the most zealous and motivated diehard voters show up to) is a little strong."

I'm judging the country based on a decade long voting pattern. Republican voters voted for Trump in 2016, 2020, and again in 2024. They have consistently punished his enemies throughout the decade.

In the 3 election cycles he has gotten the vote of 47%, 41%, and 46% of independent voters.

This isn't a one off. This is not a fluke. It's not just a closed party primary thing. This is the United States today.

One might be inclined to ask themselves why Democrats can't do a better job capturing independents and discontented Republican voters.

We can talk all day about how batshit insane internal Republican politics are, but the truth is the Democrats have the exact same problem. When the future of the Democratic Party is AOC, Mamdani, and that Maine guy with the Nazi tattoo, it becomes easier to understand why Trump looks less odious to a lot of people in comparison.
