rank | Wed Jul 01 16:07:26 Redherring. We knew Syria had chemical weapons and accounting for all of it and handing it over was impossible given the disruptions of the civil war. Incidental use of chemical weapons in adhoc forms undoubtably occurred because people in a civil war putting together barrel bombs can be assholes with access to cleaning supplies and rat poison. Or maybe even a waylaid chemical warhead. There is absolutely no evidence that the regime planned and authorized the use of chemical weapons, nor is there any evidence the regime that the regime failed its best effort in handing over its chemical weapons. "Dozens of chemical weapons" What a nothing burger. Syria had 1300 tonnes that is succeeded in handing over. Rofl, less than a rounding error the finds so far. |

rank | Wed Jul 01 16:15:43 Jergul Possession is 9/10s of the law. These were Syrian government weapons, that ended up being used against enemies of the Syrian government. It is therefore reasonable to speculate that it was the government that used them. The onus should be on those providing alternative theories to prove their thesis. Other than the Syrian government saying "no we didn't do that, and we would obviously never lie about something like this lol," do you have any basis to support your claim? |
