Scientists are jut pissed they now have to account for their spending. I will offer my opinion now that private development is better than government. If we have to depend on our government to keep up with China we are truly fucked because they don't seem to have the will to enforce any kind of accountability for all the money spent. So hear's to the private sector saving our asses! And robots couldn't get anywhere near my backyard. I live more than 70 miles from the nearest fast food place with many many rednecks with even more guns looking for something besides prairie dogs to put a hole in between me and anywhere a robot might start its trek.

Private sector funding, we are doing just fine, for reference private sector funding the US has 43% globally, compared to 18% for the EU, China nor far behind. Government broad research in the US os a good thing to fund, fund heavily and in a stable manner. Its not just funding either, the immigration shit fucks with this as well.
