rank | Thu Jul 30 11:10:53 Have to go to Sweden for 3 weeks in January. A friend is letting me stay for free in an empty house he only lets in the summer. Its far off in the countryside, and only busses 4 times a day. I'll need to take the train a few times, and since there are so few busses there, you are allowed to book a cab and get your money back at the train station. Apart from busses and trains being 3 times cleaner and more comfortable than US planes, even cabs are part of the deal in situations where the state cant provide transport every 15 minutes. |

rank | Thu Jul 30 13:09:51 "The United States has a significantly higher rate of car ownership than Sweden, with about 850 to 865 vehicles per 1,000 people in the U.S. compared to roughly 470 to 544 vehicles per 1,000 people in Sweden. On a household level, about 88% of U.S. households own a car, while Swedish ownership rates trail lower per capita due to extensive public transit and urban design." ---- Aka, Swedish people are too poor to afford cars. RIP |
|
jergul
rank | Thu Jul 30 15:27:36 You think US people can afford cars better? Swedes are just not stupid enough to get cars they cant afford. |

rank | Thu Jul 30 15:42:08 jergul Scandinavians writ large are serfs for their governments. You exist to create revenue for the state. There are some benefits to that arrangement. But the downside is that you have much less discretionary wealth. |
|
jergul
rank | Thu Jul 30 16:14:37 Ruggy Nope. Slaves are those imprinted with it through feudalism. We have trust based common wealth systems. You would not understand. |
|
jergul
rank | Thu Jul 30 16:15:33 "The personal household savings rate is roughly 3.0% in the United States and 4.9% in Norway" |
|
jergul
rank | Thu Jul 30 16:16:52 You also seem to conflate credit based consumer spending with "discretionary wealth". |
|
jergul
rank | Thu Jul 30 16:24:51 First quotation AI generated, as is the following: "The average credit card balance per consumer in the United States is approximately $6,659, with over half of cardholders carrying a revolving balance month-to-month. In contrast, Norway's median unsecured revolving credit card debt per person is roughly $1,964 (approx. 21,000 NOK), reflecting a culture where most credit card users pay balances in full to avoid high interest rates." |

rank | Thu Jul 30 23:22:18 1) Norway is not sweden. obviously with its oil wealth Norway is in better shape than sweden. Norway is even comparable to mid-areas in the US, but is still outclassed by the richer parts of the US. 2) to the nonthinking herd animal I'm sure trains and buses are nice. Sure you can't get into the woods very well, it doesn't work half the day, you have to follow their schedules, everything takes 3x as long, moving anything more than 17 pounds(the average weight a European man can lift) is impossible and you are surrounded by retards and other scum at all times... But at least it eliminates all that scary independent thought. Plus they are poor and it's cheaper. 3) I love how wtb tries all these "gotchas" but it's really just him displaying how poor he/europe is. |

rank | Thu Jul 30 23:32:47 "Scandinavians writ large are serfs for their governments. You exist to create revenue for the state." How is that any different from Americans? - |
|
jergul
rank | Fri Jul 31 00:41:34 Sammy Most of our oil and gas revenues go directly into the oil fund as foreign investment. We have yet to tap into the wealth. And yes, you are long overdue a currency adjustment. I figure the USD is worth between 33 and 50% of its current evaluation. |

Sam Adams
rank | Fri Jul 31 02:14:25 Lol jergul maths strike again. 12% by 2020! |

jergul
rank | Fri Jul 31 04:02:55 Indeed. 12.5 actually. Debit country. |

rank | Fri Jul 31 05:01:57 "we have no industry and no modern tech companies but your currency is the one that's overvalued" Lol |
|
jergul
rank | Fri Jul 31 07:47:17 Dummy, are you really so dumb that you truly believe that? A correction is coming. The best you can hope for is incremental, not dramatic, change. The only reason Norway is not a rentier state is because we are still in the wealth accumulation stage. Its just rediculous and getting worse thanks to Putin and Trump. |

rank | Fri Jul 31 15:49:01 Hurry up and chew faster lying pedophile, your lunch break is over in 5. You should ask your Sir Bossman if its possible to have no lunchbreaks at all and sit in your little cubicle cell 20 hours a day, so that you can afford to buy a bigger car. Because nothing scares a murcan more than not being able to pretend that he's important and powerful to the Joneses with a big car. I mean, what if they see you dont have a big car and think that - that - I can hardly say it, its so horrific - that you're homisexy??? Nope, lock yourself up in your cell, never see your family, friends, never live any life at all - but get a loan for a car that will make other murcans who have forgotten your existence 30 seconds later go "yeah, he aint no homisexy! You can tell buh his manly car!!" |

rank | Sat Aug 01 08:14:24 habebe I am calling out the clearest unbalances in the global economy. Ultimately, it is a question of believing that market economies eventually resolve unbalances, but sure, you keep up your rediculous trade deficits, your gross public spending deficits, and explosive consumer debt growth. I am sure your government can keep on twisting market mechanics in that pretend capitalist system you so admire. Alternately, the market will prevail and adjustments will occur. You can freeload off the rest of the globe forever. |

rank | Sat Aug 01 08:31:17 To be fair, some economists think about a 30% reduction would go a long way in resolving fundamentals. I personally think it more in the region of 50 to 67%. |

rank | Sat Aug 01 09:04:36 SpaceX is down more than 50% from its high. What were you saying about that again Habebe? Something about how much the real estate of LEO is worth? |

rank | Sat Aug 01 09:28:11 Because our public transport is, in many situations, more comfortable, less stressful, faster, easier, not to mention cheaper than car traffic. Many of our roads are centuries old, and since we like to preserve our ancient historical culture, we dont want to turn our nature into car parks everywhere, the ugliest invention in modern architecture, etc. We dont want to be stressed out 500 lb murcans who need a golf cart to wheeze from their car to their front door. "is road rage more common in the USA than europe Yes, road rage appears to be more common—and generally more severe—in the United States than in Europe (...) Road design. The U.S. has extensive freeway systems with high speeds and long commutes, which can increase stress and aggressive driving. Firearms. A uniquely American factor is that a significant number of drivers may be armed. As a result, road rage incidents in the U.S. are much more likely to involve firearms, making them far more dangerous. What the data show Studies generally find that: Aggressive driving behaviors (tailgating, excessive speeding, weaving through traffic) occur in both the U.S. and Europe. Violent road rage (assaults, shootings, drivers intentionally striking another vehicle) is substantially more common in the United States. The United States stands out among high-income countries because these incidents are far more likely to escalate into serious violence, largely due to higher rates of firearm availability and greater overall rates of violent crime." All of murca needs to get therapy and learn to breathe deeply and count to 10 |

rank | Sat Aug 01 09:49:50 Europeans dont think spending 70 hours a week in a cubicle - never seeing family or friends or the world, to borrow money and buy a blaringly obvious social signifier of the wealth and mighty warrior gender identity they wish to project to others who have forgotten your existence and are thinking about dinner 30 seconds later - is worth it. Especially since we give far less of a damn about worrying about someone thinking we might be homisexy, or not rich, or not a mighty warrior. And we think trying to signal that you have a powerful warrior penis via your car is a joke, because it is. Its strange that murcans who violently yell that there are only 2 genders constantly worry about there being a flexible gender scale on which they might get a low score if they dont alter it artificially with testosterone or affect a fake score with their car. But they are the most stressed out and stupid population in the West. |

rank | Sat Aug 01 09:55:49 Ive always thought that bodybuilding and murcan fake wrestling are such epitmomies of murcan culture. Pretend sports where the entire point is superficial pretense. Keeping up appearances. It doesnt matter if the bodybuilder isnt particularly strong and is dying of cancer from his unhealthy diet and dangerous hormones - its all about LOOKING the part on the surface. It doesnt matter if the bodybuilder moves like a fridge gets the living hell beaten out of him against a thai boxer and the murcan wrestler is just pretending. It doesnt matter if your tomatoes and apples taste like water as long as they are BIG and RED. The only thing that matters is surface noise and bling. |

rank | Sat Aug 01 16:04:41 Got stuck behind a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and a motorbike out for a ride together in the mountains an hour ago, crawling along at 15 mph for about five minutes. I have zero interest in cars, but those kinds of cars are still pretty cool, and it was fun tagging along as they rumbled like gods of thunder. Of course, the Riviera is littered with Ferraris worth as much as 50 of Lying Filth's second-hand Ford SUVs - the one he dreams of someday getting a loan for. They probably buy $3,000,000 Ferraris because they can't afford a Ford SUV, just as Lying Filth worked out with his razor-sharp murcan school math skillz. Then we reached the main road and they raced. Their rumbling became the sound of the end of days. The Ferrari left the motorbike eating its dust. I’ve had to learn the unspoken traffic rules in the South of France, where they drive as crazily as the Italians. Several times a week, you’ll see people doing wheelies for hundreds of meters, sometimes kneeling or standing on the seat, people ignore speed limits, take crazy risks trying to beat the traffic lights etc. But through all this, they also have a secret code of politeness. At zebra crossings, pedestrians basically just step out with the right of priority and the cars screech to a halt. The drivers just wave them across with a polite smile. When people do shout at each other in traffic, all you have to do is say, “Sorry man, my fault” or gesture to indicate that, and its all over and everyone continues on their merry way. |

rank | Sat Aug 01 16:51:53 Its just amazing. The handwaving against market fundamentals most of you know are valid. Trade and government deficits over time erode currency values. Excessive consumer credit is inherently inflationary. P/E above 17 is a bubble waiting to burst. Its like I am the only person here that believes in market capitalism and I am a social uhm socialist (and economically conservative obviously). |

rank | Sat Aug 01 18:46:57 Its hilarious that Lying Filth thinks having a car means youre rich, though. How poor do you have to be to think owning a car in the 21st century is a rich mans thing? Its the kind of thing a kid in the streets of Niger would brag about |
