rank | Sun Aug 09 17:56:10 $10 million! https://ab...e-suing-10m/story?id=135430454 August 6, 2026 A New Jersey woman has filed a $10 million lawsuit alleging she suffered severe injuries after getting struck in the head by a baseball bat during a New York Yankees home game. Stephanie Duluc, 37, a senior healthcare executive, was sitting behind home plate during a June 2 game against the Cleveland Guardians when the incident occurred, according to a complaint filed this month. A Guardians batter lost control of his bat, which flew over protective netting and struck Duluc in the head "with tremendous force," knocking her out of her fourth-row seat in Yankee Stadium, according to the complaint. Duluc's injuries "include a traumatic brain injury and concussion, severe, persistent, and debilitating post-traumatic headaches, a disabling sensitivity to light, injuries to both of her hands, and an injury to her neck," the complaint stated, alleging that the incident was "violent and entirely preventable." |

rank | Sun Aug 09 19:19:45 Man arrested for obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty, looks more like. Police are entitled to stop and question people if they appear to be carrying something that can be used an offensive weapon without adequate reason. A baseball bat in packaging that you have just bought would certainly be an adequate reason. We don't see the start of the altercation, my guess would either be that he was waving it around in a way that made the police think he might be intending to use it that way, or when the police approached him he was aggressive towards them which would allow them to do a stop-and-search which, as he evidently is not, if he did not comply with could then escalate to an arrest. I suspect it is very much a case of a teenager being a dick, rather than the bat itself. |
