Mountain landslide floods have occured forever. While global warming could have destabilized this slope, it also could have decreased the flood by removing mass from the event. We probably won't know so we should just conclude as we usually do, that jergul is retarded.

Only thing similar I recall with that much force are videos of major dams suffering catastrophic failure. While I may give the "humans aren't causing global warming" crowd my own imagined dunce cap treatment, - those denying the Earth isn't significantly hotter and melting all sorts of glacier formations (like the one in this video) is just pure madness at this point.

Global warming on the other hand is mere decades old. Balance of probability. Mountains that do something every several hundred million years are to blame? Or ongoing ice melt off these last decades due to higher temperatures triggered it? Dummy, are you going to triple down on stupid when you choose the most plausible alternative?
