I read the story and what was obvious to me is that "J" was a low-grade admin capturing initial information to log someone into the system rather than an actual HO case worker. He raises a bunch of nonsense about how a detailed interview "just gives time to concoct a lie" - that's typical mentality of someone who doesn't understand that an RSD assessment entails. Detailed RSD interviews can't be conducted straight off the boat. The level of documentation required is extensive, the evidence provided may also require investigation and or medical investigation (are those scars torture? Does your. Dentistry support your claimed age?). I'm sure there are people that rock up with the same old story about shagging the Kurdish governors wife or whatever. Guess what? They are part of the 58% rejected. You know why we don't let the admins do rejection? Because they are dumb as shit. They are just there to record basic details and they often fail in even that, spelling names wrong etc.

This is because the last govt decided to halt processing for two years and put all those awaiting RSD into hotels - much to the rage of the right. As a result there's now a huge backlog to clear so RSDs are being rushed and heard by inexperienced me recruits and before evidence to substantiate a rejection and deportation can be gathered which tends to favour false claims because a botched rejection can easily be overturned at tribunal. Who is to blame for this? Why, the NaMBLA conservatives who thought it would be great to "just refuse to hear asylum claims" would somehow solve the problem.

But that just meant they couldn't legally deport them because they hadn't assessed the validity it the claim, then they ran out of processing centre space so they put them in hotels instead. Basically, this is what happens when you let NaMBLA Adams make policy: it's fucking stupid and doesn't work.

Those are exactly the things that traditional conservatives set out to conserve. What you are describing is an ethno-nationalist totalitarian state. This is the basic issue: the UK has conservatives but what you want isn't in any way a conservative govt. What you actually want is a radical totalitarian state, even if you don't think you do. And when you try those policies without actually being a totalitarian state they fail. It's the dog with the ball meme. "No fascism. Just pogrom"
